:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

TIP TO MINIMIZE CREASING. That's FREE

So awhile back I purchased the stupid Force Fields from Champs and I found them to be so uncomfortable that they just sit in my drawer.  So I figured out a solution that is FREE minus the cost of duct tape!!!

I use the cardboard shoetrees that you find inside of your Jordans upon purchase.

What I do is...

1. Just cut a nice size piece off of the toe portion of the cardboard shoetree, enough to cover the inside of the toe box, I just cut straight across, in a straight line.

2. After I cut the piece I put it inside of the shoe to see if it's comfortable, or if its still too long.  Because of this, I always try not to cut too much at first, because you want to leave as much cardboard as possible to cover the toebox area. If you put the toe piece in the shoe and its still a little bit too big, you can always cut off a little bit more, a little bit at a time, until you get the biggest piece possible without sacrificing comfort.  Just don't cut too much at first, and you won't have to worry about wasting some of your shoetrees.

3.  After I get a perfect size that is comfortable, but not too small, I cover the cardboard piece in duct tape, to ensure that it doesn't lose shape, or becomes damp with sweat over time.  Just make sure that the tape is flush when applying it to the cardboard, or else it won't be very comfortable.

PS. Don't confuse the left and the right pieces while doing this.  I always write an L and R when they're still just cardboard, and then I use a sharpie to write an L and R on them when they're finally wrapped in duct tape.

Anyways, I hope this helps some of you.  I found these to be so much more comfortable than force fields because they're a lot more pliable, and the best part is that they're FREE.  I didn't even cut all my shoetrees either, I just made two pair, that way I can still maintain the shoetrees in my shoes, without cutting them for the rest of my collection.   The few shoes that no longer have the shoetrees, I just stuff the toe box with plastic bags when they're not in use.

Again, I hope this helps, You just created your own FREE CREASE PROTECTOR!!!! BOH!!!!

Jason Markk is fine, as well as Lincoln EZ Cleaner or Refreshed. Could also use water + brush + detergent/dish soap.

Many nubuck/suede shoes aren't necessarily dirty, but could be fading: (hear it works best for black suede, idk for sure though, use at own risk)

props for this video. very helpful. i think i will try it on some of my kick with suede, most notably my 13s

you need to relax. we dont always have an answer to your question. sometimes it takes a little leg work of your own to figure stuff out.

i find it funny when people ask a question, waits for hours and gets no response, and then go YO IT WAS AN EASY QUESTION WHY NOBODY ANSWERS ME lol. heres another easy question for ya....how come you could not find the answer yourself if its such an easy question like you keep repeating?

i understand the frustration of nobody responding. but dont come back and say it was an easy question and whatnot

dont get at NT and say its an easy question, but you couldnt figure out the easy question. sounds bad on your part ya know?

now what part were you missing when i said i care about yalls opinions/advice/voice in general? in this particular case i felt as though the question was simple and i did answer it i just wanted to verify. but i wasnt just talking about that post this happens to me literally every time. i usually have to quote my own post to get it seen again and answered.

im not even tryna argue with people, i like yall, but can someone answer my original question:

what size laces go in a size 13 AJ5 and who knows a link to get them cheap? I believe its 54in, but someone verify please.

Just type flat laces in Amazon and u will be fine for the fives they come with flat laces... I'm not size 13 so wouldn't no lace size but it time u break out a measuring tape and see what size ur dirty ones are.... That seems simple enough

Edit- also if u want check how wide they are so u don't get ones to big or to small night also help

Most help I can offer hope it helps

1. let us know where you got your information from. that way people can post links for you to verify without posting the same sites you may have gotten your info from. if somebody posts the same site you got your info from, that doesnt help you verify anything. be more specific.

2. how hard did you try to look up the answer? i googled "jordan 5 lace length" and 1 of the sites at the top of the list is http://help-en-us.nike.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16732/~/nike-shoelaces-size-chart. thats directly from NDC. i dont know if thats reliable enough for you.

thankyou so much. and yeah i figured i gotta get old fashioned but i dont have any size 13 laces myself. i only have 1 pair of 5s in a size 13 and those are the ones that need laces. only other shoe in size 13 i got is Peapod 8. should i measure those? i just assume they'd be different. im content with buying them from amazon now. thanks again homie, rep'd.

no problem. a useful tip for situations like this in the future is to hit up ebay for answers.

for example, in your situation you can go on ebay, look up the jordan 5 you need laces for, message a few of the sellers and just ask them what the length of the laces are. most of the sellers on ebay are very very motivated to sell. you would be surprised at the lengths they would go to to answer your question if they believe you are going to buy. some of them would definitely measure the laces for you.

ive done it before when i needed to verify something on the box etc. it never fails me.

yoo that's a good idea. never thought of that. preciate it.

Dude is very reputable and legit, sponsored by Angelusdirect.  His contact email is in his video info. 100k + subscribers on youtube.

Would definitely recommend you to try to restore it yourself first though, especially if it's easy things. Would save a lot of money and time.
Anybody got a good mix of Angelus paint to make the 1999 Oreo grey color?? I've been messing around with some combinations but nothing great so far.
Don't know the mix or really how to help, but 2015 version is "tech grey" and 1999 version is "cool grey". From what I've seen, it looks like the OG paint is darker than the retro, so that would mean cool grey is darker than tech gray. Not much, but only thing I can recommend is to try and ask more people or keep experimenting. Tried to look online for Oreo 4 restorations or how to make cool grey paint, but no luck.

Yeah I know one is "Tech" and the other is "Cool" but more importantly I'm trying to get a more "aged" look. I came up with a little mix of light grey, white, and yellow. Wet it looked almost identical to the old midsole paint color but once it dried it got darker. I'm going to experiment some more until I get just right.
