:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

how can i whiten the patent leather/plastic tab of my rising suns?
nerd.gif
 would oxyclean/retrobrite be best?
You CAN whiten the patent leather with Salon Care + Oxyclean or retr0bright formula. I've done it before on a pair of Columbia's. I personally prefer Salon Care because it comes bottled for you and is known to be stronger. You can also do the same with the tabs, but like others have said, it does weaken them and can cause them to break overtime.

The sauce they use in this vid is the same stuff as Salon Care or Retr0bright.

How can u brighten a sole. My crimson foamposites sole has become very dull over time and I would like to know how to brighten the sole or how to change the color all together.
Just regular cleaning would probably do a lot. But if there is a bit of oxidation that is changing the color/yellowing, then use Salon Care formula and brighten them up.

Need some carbon fiber help on my Colombia blue lows.. Could I just glue it or do i have to do something else? (hope you guys can see it my webcam a little blurry)

Also any tips to get the Eyelets/Mesh back white?

Looks like the top surface of the carbon fiber is falling off? Nothing really to do aside from finding a way to stick it back on. Could use glue, etc.

To whiten mesh, use RIT liquid whiten and brightener.

over the years the CF used on the 11 cracks fairly easy especially the older retros which didn't have a soft gel like top layer compare to the more recent retros. what you can do is use the E1000 to fill them in. it will prevent them from chipping off.

Man DAMN! Second shoe this has happened. It has to be the ink from the receipt. This time it's really bad. Just picked these up on trade Monday and they were perfect. They were in the box on top of the tissue that was on top of the receipt. Ink must have bled through. I'm seeing this more and more. It doesn't make since though because the receipt was under the tissue not even touching the shoe, and if it is the ink, it didn't bleed through into the tissue that was in between the shoe and receipt. Don't know what to think

Wd40 didn't work. It was to saturated. Nail polish remover is doing the trick. Though my sole there might be yellowed or discolored in a few days. Pic after the cleaning

It's coming back now. DAMN! Less than 5 minutes later. I don't think this is ink from the receipt guys. I'm dumbfounded now that it's back when it was gone. What the heck is this

No clue man! I just took a sock that was soaked with the polish remover and touched it to the sole for a minute or two and I completely disappeared, but I watched it over the next few minutes and it came back, I'm going to try to get it on video.

That is weird lol. Might want to try 100% acetone then as it disspears, go over it quickly and scrub it tough with soap and water. Or if it really doesn't work you can try things like goo gone, idk if it'll help, but it's supposed to kill tough stains.

But yeah, that type of stain/flaw is commonly from receipts.

Desperate for help on this restoration?

Is it possible to restore this problem? How?
You're going to have to repaint the shoe. Tutorials here... (Different shoes/colorways, but same process)

Personally, I'm a little wary of stripping the paint of 6's with acetone because I've always been taught/heard it can easily eat into that type of midsole and destroy it, but I've seen a lot of people do it without issue. I've personally always been a little wary of doing it though, so be cautious. For the sole, looks like you have to repaint it also, but this time I wouldn't recommend stripping the paint. Just paint over it with some black paint. For me personally, I wouldn't even care about the sole because noone can see it and the paint might come off quick depending on how much wear you put in the shoe and how well you paint it. If it's heel drag, don't even repaint it, just leave it.

I recommend using angelus leather acrylic paint. It can be purchased at turtlefeathers.net or angelusdirect.com

Could also brighten up the sole back/unyellow it. Tutorial here:

Thanks a lot for the great help and the problem I am most concerned is the heel drag, is it possible to fully restore it? add some rubber? both the black part and icy part. From the first pic you see, if I dont stop it, it will go to the foam part, which I am sure is not fixable.

Defect in the rubber looks like ... Not color related

Yea I just googled "defective rubber retro jordans"
There are several videos on the first page of stains just like these. It's something in the rubber, it's not the receipt, which explains why my infrared/white 6's had it pop up on them last month, the receipt was in the box below the tissue as well but again, no ink on the tissue.
I may be sending these back to NIKE. I can't trade these off in this condition man
