it is, it is. but it's the only way you'll get a game changing, impact wide receiver of that caliber. 49ers are too good and players like that will never drop to us even with how deep the draft is in WRs this year sammy watkins is head and shoulders above everyone else and he has the best chance of carrying over his success to the pros.

I feel like sammy watkins is a better receiver in all facets but red zone threat has to be given to Mike Evans in this years draft. That dudes ceiling is crazy high also.

Agreed. Seriously, Sherman and rest of that LOB would be (insert Michael Jordan laughing gif) at that lineup.

Also, that's not really a rumor going around, just some fantasy trade fodder. In his scenario, he has us trading a 2nd and a 5th for AJ.

I like AJ b/c dude has been really productive and a beast his whole career but doesn't seem plausible we'd make this trade when the draft is deep at WR. I get that AJ would be a sure thing but I prefer the idea of picking up 1-2 WR's from this draft for couple reasons: at least 1 of em would be that missing link to make defenses pay for doubling Crab/Boldin/Vernon and also having 2 young studs in the fold would protect for the future if Crabs dips for more money and when the time comes for Boldin to retire or leave.

I would only sign him for a year no questions asked. I much rather hope that rumor of us trading up to get Watkins has more validity than the Desean rumor.
