If Jimmy the quarterback was held in as high a regard as Jimmy the person, we would have an All Pro QB on our team and no Trey Lance.

As much he was frustrating as hell at times, Jimmy's tenure provided us some great memories and games I will never forget. I wish Jimmy the best in his future (unless he is somehow a Steeler, then eff him haha).

It was a rollercoaster but the highs were as great as you could ask for outside of a ring.

I'll never forget when Jimmy G went berserk on the last 5 games of the 2017 season. We went out swinging that season, especially beating the Jags. :pimp:

I aint mad. Yeah, yeah I am. Never been so frustrated, and I love Jimmy. He got us here, no lie, but it wasn't enough to get us to the promise land. Good guy, wish him the absolute best.

Now, if we can get Aaron ******* Rogers...

im sure some of the dummies in this fan base forgot about this. Jim’s appreciated man. Hopefully Trey can get us over the hump and I think he can/will :pimp:

The problem is he never got better as a player and once teams started taking the 49ers seriously again, we got to see the real Jimmy. It's hard to defend someone that' plays really well maybe 5 or 6 games out of the season

A lot of the "dummies" in the 49ers fan base, while never taking away from the porn star's contributions, also know what it's like to win Super Bowls and know what kind of QB IT TAKES TO WIN IT ALL. Not to take away from his, what, 35-16 something record with SF, he did as much as he could but bottom line is he is only good for 2nd and 3rd place. Just cause Jimmy ain't good enough doesn't mean the "dummies" forgot about Beathards or Mullens of the world lol

Then there are those "dummies" in the fan base whose only experience is going to the SB twice and losing so they think it was good enough and think guys like Jimmy and Kap are actually good enough to win it all in spite of the QB's inadequacies and defend the QBs to no end to the pint of making excuse after excuse in their defense of their QB.

So....which type of "dummy" are you?

Jimmy had some good moments but he had far more bad moments as a 49er. Ntm dude was hurt half the time.

Man, watching Jimmy G's press conference definitely hit different. |l

As much as we'll criticize him for his shortfalls, I'll always be thankful for what he did for us. We set our expectations for him (rightfully so) as our next Montana or Young. But to hold him to that high of a standard knowing he had some deficiencies in some areas was unfair to him. It was so frustrating to be a 49er fan before he came and the fact that he brought us back to the super bowl and then the NFC championship, I'll be grateful for that.

He gave me hope to be a 49er fan again. I hope he finds success where ever he goes.

While I agree with most of your comment, my opinion is that once he got to the Super Bowl it is now fair game to expect him to finish the job and play at that Young or Montana like level.

Let's not forget Montana averaged ONLY 18 TD passes a year and 247 yards per game in his 15 years. Not elite numbers by any stretch of the imagination. What made Joe a winner is his ability to CLOSE games in the playoffs when the games mattered most. He leveled up in the postseason regardless of what numbers he put up in the regular season. Walsh and Seifert trusted him to no end unlike Kyle with Jimmy.

People don't realize that the 49ers won 4 trophies with Montana putting up Garoppolo-like numbers. Lol

Check it out

Seems like the organization is going to try to do right by Jimmy trade wise. And that’s a good look imo. We all know the NFL can be a pretty cutthroat business, players come and go, contracts aren’t guaranteed etc. So just a simple gesture like that is a good look on the 49ers end.

Other players see stuff like that and it reflects well on the organization as being a place players want to go to.

This team is much built to last and have long term sustainable success compared to the 2011-13 teams, they have the talent in place to win a super bowl within the next few years as well if Trey ends up being as advertised.

As for Jimmy, I hope he has success wherever he goes when they’re not playing the 49ers. But if things don’t pan out elsewhere. I wouldn’t mind him in a backup role 2-3 years from now.

I’ll miss Jimmy. He was limited as a player, but you could see why the guys loved him. Even on that last drive, I thought to myself “There’s a chance” flashback to our Rams game in 2019. He’s not a top 10 guy but we could’ve been doing way worse at QB.

That excitement I felt when we first traded for him is something that invigorated the entire fan base. We needed to upgrade, but Jimmy will always be good in my book.
