Landry was a fan favorite in here from that 2014 draft. It would be great to finally bring in this offseason.

Sacrifices his body for the sake of the block.

It really pissed me off how Laken Tomlinson and Trent Brown did nothing after CJ slid and got cheap shotted. In the words of the legendary Bill Romanowski, "Where are your damn balls?" :smh::smh::smh: Must be this soft generation.

Ryan Jensen is a free agent this offseason. Not only a good center but an enforcer and will stand up for his QB. Quenton Nelson is another bully. I want those two.

wouldn't be mad if we traded back in the 1st to improve this O-Line. reminds me of how we took iupati and anthony davis in the first round of the 2010 draft and almost immediately built a dynasty around them

like other niner brethren have said, barkley wouldn't be able to do **** behind this current line. build the oline in the upcoming draft then take najee harris in the following draft

They have to be careful about moving back too far. Quenton Nelson is going top ten. I think top five. This draft is weak at the top. There are two elite players: Barkley and Nelson.

I don't think Shanny will want Barkley there. For one, Shanahans don't draft RBs early. Two, he doesn't play in a scheme comparable to ours. Penn St. doesn't run any outside zone. In fact, I can't find a single play where he runs outside zone. The good thing is the RB class is deep this year. I think Ronald Jones is the best zone RB in the draft. He's tailormade for our scheme.

Can’t remember the last time a guard was elite coming out of college.

Mel Kiper said that Nelson is the best guard prospect that he's evaluated in the last 25 years.

Everyone wants an elite OL, but nobody wants to pay for it

Call him the Undertaker because he tombstones opponents deep into the turf after every play. The soul snatcher, the pancake collector. #56

The Pancake Collector

So where does Joshua Garnett fit in all of this of we are revamping the O-Line this offseason? I don't wanna see that 1st round pick go to waste....

Yea we need to invest some first and seconds on oline. Look at the cowboys. Think they spent 3-4 years on oline with their first round picks.

Let Garnett compete for that right guard spot. We need to rebuild the interior OL. We can draft a raw, athletic tackle later in the draft to groom while Staley gives us whatever he’s got left.

Nelson picks up two blitzers, one with each arm. :wow:

RIP to two USC defenders

Read on twitter earlier today that there have been two guards taken in the top 10 since 2000, and both of them were enormous busts.

Not saying that should deter us from drafting Nelson, but I did find that very interesting.

Trent Brown is such a dominant pass protector. He's still got ways to go in run blocking, but he should make strides there next year as long as he takes care of his body. Another year in the same scheme will be huge as well.

after seeing los throw hands this weekend, i want that dude in a niner uniform for the rest of his career

It's time to start peeking towards the draft. My first mini-player profile for the 2018 draft is my favorite edge rusher(for our scheme): Harold Landry. :D

Harold Landry, DE/OLB, Boston College

6 ft 3 in, 250 lbs

Strengths: Elite bender. Think Von Miller in that regard. Consistently plays with tremendous get off and low pad level. Has the best flatten ability of all edge rushers in the draft. Once he’s got the corner, it’s over. Loose, fluid athlete that can drop into coverage and make plays in space.

Weaknesses: Slightly undersized and can be overwhelmed in run defense. Needs to get bigger and stronger. Overly dependent on his speed rush. Needs to develop an inside counter to complement the outside rush.

NFL Comparison: Vic Beasley

Fit: Harold Landry is a seamless fit at SAM LB. We desperately need edge rushers, and Landry would give us that speed-rushing element that would force quarterbacks up into the pocket into Deforest Buckner. Landry is going in the first round, likely top 10, so he'd be a primary target if we trade back.

Film breakdown:

Chops the low hand, dips, flattens and sacks.

Nice hip and ankle pliability. Once he turns that corner, his hips point to the QB. Stays balanced through contact.

Elite bender.

His outside rush is so good that it sets this up. Crosses the tackles face and gets skinny thru the B gap.

His ability to flatten once he's got the corner is his best trait. He's so damn consistent at that.

Shows he can work with his hands as well. The threat of previous sack leads to this one. Gets hands inside and beats the tackle with the beautiful push-pull move.
