Meh, dink and dunk passes. Alex mastered checkdown yardage passes and got lucky his receivers piled up a ton of YAC. The most obvious being Moss' 47 yard TD scamper.

see this is what i don't get the hate AS gets. He won us ballgames, give credit when its due he played efficient ball this year and did what is ASKED him to do. Every QB in the league benefits in the YAC category its not just him. The STL game should be a good test for CK because it’s the first team that would see him twice in less than a month and played a good defensive game against the AZ.
Very true. Also, I would like to add on to that and say Colin is also much more mobile than Alex. There were a few times during the Saints game that defenders were either right in Colin's face or hurling down on him and Colin was able to escape the rush and either run for a few yards or throw the ball to an open receiver. During those particular plays all I could do was think that if that were Alex Smith instead of Colin Kaapernick he would have gotten sacked. That's just me though.no one is denying he won us games. its more so how the games have been won. With Alex, it was...see what the defense gives you and take the underneath stuff. Alex rarely took shots down field, and when he did, 80% of the time the pass was off. Teams were not scared to stack the box and dared the niners to beat them deep.see this is what i don't get the hate AS gets. Now with Colin, teams have to be more honest and respect the deep ball. Simply put, colin just makes this team way more explosive.
i think you're confusing "hate" towards alex with all this 'i feel bad for alex' stuff. b/c i really dont see anyone bashing alex. people are saying what we already know-- alex is a limited QB.
Tight end Vernon Davis, cornerback Carlos Rogers and defensive lineman Ray McDonald restructured their contracts to provide the 49ers with the necessary cap room to award Bowman with a $7.5 million signing bonus, a league source told CSNBayArea.com on Friday.
Bowman, whose original four-year deal averaged $623,062 annually through 2013, signed a five-year extension this week through 2018 that averages $8.911 million annually.
Because of his signing bonus, Bowman's 2012 cap figure immediately rose from $717,887 to $2.217 million, the source said.
In order to fit Bowman's new deal under their salary cap, the 49ers turned to three veterans to clear nearly $2.5 million in cap space.
Davis provided the biggest cap relief for the 49ers of approximately $1.2 million. Davis' 2012 cap figure went from a little over $8 million to $6.8 million. The 49ers awarded Davis a $1.48 million signing bonus and had his remaining $25,000 per game active roster bonuses for the final five regular season games designated as an OATSB item (other amount treated as signing bonus).
Rogers' salary figure went from $5.5 million to $4.7 million, as he also had his per-game roster bonuses for the final five games converted to OATSB. McDonald's cap figure went from $4.154 this season to $3.6 million, as his original 2013 base salary was partially converted to an option bonus.
