It seems like the smarter thing to do would be to tank the rest of the season and get a high draft pick. But i have 0 confidence in the 9ers to draft somebody decent so i'll take sneaking into the playoffs at 7--9 and hosting a playoff game. Who knows when they'll sniff the playoffs again.

Yes the season is over but winning 2 games will still get Sing fired and Alex will still be gone. Is two more wins really going to hurt us. I think we have already won to many games and we will most likely be looking at drafting a second tire QB.
Not to bash the Cobra he does great with both updates during the game via twitter and his blog and after the game. I can remember countless articles buy him and many other Bay Area media members that cover this team praising Alex for his offseason work and saying a 180 degree turnaround this year was coming.

I'm kinda in this boat too. Anytime you have a chance at a division title you have to go for it. With how pathetic we are we'll probably lose Sunday and this is all moot point.

If Jed actually is competent, Alex and Sing are already gone at the end of the season even if we make the playoffs. Only way both can save their jobs is winning a Super Bowl, and you know there's no way in hell that'll happen.....or.....no, it's not happening.
