CO-SIGN. money saved! though i'm sure the asg and sb might be tempting.. we'll see thoughWas a big fan of the 8"s 9"s but this bulky ugly thing has me scratching my head!!! Even the colors are not inspiring!!!!
Here's the main issue, then one of the reasons that you'll see random names taking offense at what it is that I am saying, especially on threads like these. If we can all stay respectful and allow people to have an opinion we can keep the thread alive and also get alot of development of the culture embraced and flourished.
Hey Blossom, why did you repost the Away Floridian, did something change on the shoe? I'm looking at them, not seeing anything different. Help me out...
P.S. All my post are sincere questions and comments, I don't so the sarcastic stuff. My ego is nonexistent from this point on, lets really make this forums a community of united sneaker collectors.
i would say side tracked more than one sided, but i feel you. The discussions are needed but ima be honest, im ready for the shoe to drop so i can either write them off or not.Charm... you know I agree with that.. hence why some of us have attempted to engage in non picture business or the business around Nike threads...
BUT when the convo gets extremely one sided with Opinions stated as facts and facts are.. lets just say warped... and everything is YOU are wrong for what you like and everything I say is the gospel.
Discussions ends decorum lost and arguments ensue.
Thats no fun.. nor engaging.
Especially when you go to any thread that will listen and post the same info over and over and over again.. as if many of us dont see more than one thread in the Nike section.
I have been wondering for a long time................ how are we going to get Nike to start making great performance shoes again. Especially, in my opinion, when people in relative terms are balling less and "acting like they ball" more? That is one reason why i am excited about these shoe. It looks like the shoes has the potential to perform very high. And hopefully things can keep improving. Here's the main issue, then one of the reasons that you'll see random names taking offense at what it is that I am saying, especially on threads like these.
If the comments con, against, the new and expensive model takes root, then flowing off of this site to other sites and to the streets, giving power to any added rumor and innuendo against this item, Nike gets kicked in the testicles. The know it, and they know that they've done wrong for a very long time. There is a backlog of stuff to use against them. The one thing that they fear most, is a Professor K type move, where he destroyed several shoes made by Reebok, while at the peak of his popularity. He wrote a scathing review against their product, then making it seem as if all of Reebok's product were all constructed in the same fashion. It was as if as a company, they didn't even care about the build of their shoes.
Nike is one bad story away really losing the lead, and all it will take is something from the street level to get it going. It happened with Tommy Hilfiger years ago, and with Greenpeace already on Nike's butts, the heat could get pretty intense.
So that's why you see suggestions like let's keep it about the shoes here on NT, and then on Sole Collector. Over there if you say something against a Nike shoe, making a good case against it, they'll say that you are being negative, then calling for you to be banned. Nike has more power over there. A part of their mission statement during registration, is that any negativity is reason for banishment. Meanwhile they had posters over there referring to Asians and African Americans in a derogatory manner, and the mods took no action.
But you can't say anything bad about Nike shoes, even if it is dead on, truthful, then accurate.
Nike Talk is a bit more popular than Sole Collector, due to the diversity present in other forums like General and S&T, then also an older demographic. As much as I'd like to put my foot in a few people's butts over here, this place does seem to be a bit more genuine.
But Nike needs to sell these shoes! Their employees, those that are present here as well, and their wannabe's, will make sure that all goes according to plan, with the pics and the oohh's and aaahhh's telling the story. Anything different, and they will do what they need to do to keep you away, keeping it only about the shoes.
So I am going to break it down. There was a time that Nike made some excellent hoops shoes, even running shoes. Those days are long gone, as most of what they produce is made for fashion, then not performance. It's a shame as well, as they have some of the greatest athletes in the world on their roster.
So Nike, I've taken my business across the street from you.
If others follow, it's only your fault.
Here's the thing, Some people have become so brand loyal, that they refuse to try anything different. To be quite honest, I've got many buddies who simply play in whatever is on the sale rack, and they do just fine. Nike wins in this manner as well, due to that fact that they make so many shoes, most will wind up in the sales bin, or at places like Nordstrom Rack.I have been wondering for a long time................ how are we going to get Nike to start making great performance shoes again. Please explain why. Make me a believer.although i wont perform in mine,,,i guarantee this shoe will be a performance beast.
Please explain why. Make me a believer.
Explain the differences, then the effect that those differences have on the durability and value, and then your game.Have you tried playing in the Iverson retro'd by Reebok? They are NOTHING like the originals...
Zoom Max has been used before. The only difference in this model from that of the II and III, is that the air bag is different. The shoe does not use full length zoom max either, as was previously advertised. The medial side of the system is different.Cushioning that has never been featured in any Nike shoe to start.
So, since the patent ran out on the Reebok shoe's cushioning system, do you think that they've used something comparable, that lasts just as long?No full length DMX like the originals, their signature cushioning setup featured in the originals, thus making them not as comfortable to ball in. They don't affect game, but since you said Nike's retros are poor compared to that of Adidas and Reebok, I'm giving you an example.
