Official Reebok Kamikaze II Thread AKA "Reignmans"

Or maybe a lost stock and boxes were damaged so they replaced them? :lol

I remember when they first released and sold out i said reebok would retro them in a few years. Even i didnt expect it so soon :lol

Nah, that sore is here in ATL area and I have a lot of pairs copped from them, dont think they will mess around with fakes.

I tried but no answer yet, to be honest last time I contacted them I received a lot of controversial answers and that was for the upcoming White/Black Question, they had the FSR and believe still have, one person said it was a leftover quantity from a few years back, but that turned out to be not true and they are to be released early next year . So I am expecting the same for the Kll.

So anybody email them n ask what the deal is with them having that fsr of k2?

NK, I think it's as you stated in another discussion we were having in another thread. Reebok will continue to re-retro (***** out) the Kami II and the Shaq Attaq until no one gives a damn about those 2 models.

Surprised that they didn't put Kemp's name on the eyelet considering the price increase.

Some troubling news I read this morning, that some investment group from HK and Abu Dhabi are offering to buy Reebok of Adidas, I dont think is a good idea, but will see.

Trent, I think this may actually be good news for Reebok as they will operate as an independent unit vs. being a subset of Adidas. The HK and Abu Dhabi cats have deep pockets so the product could have better materials and they might be interested in going deeper into the 80s, 90s and early 00s catalog.

I don't think Reebok can get any worse than they are now.

@trentbg I don't know. This seems like the change that may be needed, with all the complaints recently of Reebok not advetising enough and putting more retros out. The company needs smart business men who can focus on reviving the brand with more money spent on R&D and advertisement. Adidas is losing money too but may want to keep a hold on a potential competitor

Yes, they do have money, but even with Adidas, company with a huge history in sporting goods and equipment, they are struggling, I can even imagine if someone that has no experience trying to manage Reebok.

trent, the HK and Abu Dhabi investors would not make this move if they did not feel there was value in Reebok. As whathehadassole said - Reebok needs exposure and presently they have NO management. Under different ownership they would have at least SOME management. In the Reuters article I read, they say that Adidas is #2 behind Nike but that gap must be massive - a distant 2nd if such a thing did exist.

Worst case scenario, they (new management) maintain the status quo and we get the same damn Question, Pump (and recently the Kami II) retros with a bunch of inline CrossFit sneakers that run the same materials as Nike. Best case scenario, they actually hire a marketing department or partner with a college/university and get unpaid interns and get their product out there.

Reebok needs to focus more on current models than retros if they do get bought out

Adidas looks like its going all out on their current sig shoes and its terrible that they arent helping reebok back in the current gen

I just noticed that adidas has three sig models all for point guards lol greedy

NK, the bolded part is very true but all these brands (Nike/JB/Reebok/Adidas/Under Armour) are running the same damn seamless mesh/fuse/knit uppers (albeit with their own names) and some variation of the (basic) phylon type cushioning. New products will work if they try to think 'outside of the box' and actually run some 'real' materials like Li Ning (of all companies).

With a mix of inline and retro product in TEAM colourways along with SOME promotion Reebok could make a decent comeback.

Kamikaze II low   black/white   $69.98**

Kamikaze II mid  mint               $49.99**

Do they really run small? The lows that is?

My all star k2 mids were pretty snug compared to the k1
