It's not really criticism though. It's always couched in some "One could deduce X off action Y, but he did not explicitly support X so we cannot assume and accuse him of X". That ain't criticism. That's making excuses despite probably deep down knowing it's wrong.
No, I think his opinion on the confederate statues, for instance, is wrong.
I think a lot of his rhetoric is wrong.
Period.
And I'm not making excuses for it.
Just because I don't go as far as to call him a racist doesn't mean that he is above other criticism. He's obviously far from a perfect candidate.
