I want someone who is effective and looks like me. Is that a problem?
Can you explain the "looks like me" part of your statement please. What do YOU look like and what is your race/ethnicity??

I’m Black. It doesn’t take rocket science to understand my commentCan you explain the "looks like me" part of your statement please. What do YOU look like and what is your race/ethnicity??

I understood your comment that I quoted quite well. I asked for a breakdown of your description as an effort to help understand your thought process behind your statement. Thanks for sharing.
How is her age making her ineffective at her job?
And I assume you guys want Maxine Waters to retire too, right?
If you don't want to expand on an outburst, then you have the option of not responding, don't be surprised no one takes your point seriously if all you want to do is yell and vent.I don’t have to expand. I don’t like her. She doesn’t represent my interests and I feel a qualified progressive person of color would do a better job than Pelosi. I’m tired of so called progressive white liberalism. Give qualified people of color an opportunity.

It went from Pelosi must go from some strange unknown reason to you want a black progressive that can be effective at the job of House Leader and all it's functions. Look at how the goal move when you have to defend you position
But still you dislike Pelosi's for a reason you don't even know to be true. You just assume it to be
Then say it is strictly on race and let that argument be judged on those terms. What do you want him to say thick eyebrows, 3 shades darker than obama you knew what he meant.
Most blacks when they watch politics they want someone who has walked their life actually know what blacks deal with thats one reason why we loved obama how shallow that may sound most blacks dont believe wypipo have the best interest in blacks (Hilary prime example).
I know some blacks who went out and voted obama just because he was black which isnt a good thing but they believed he would helped the black community
An outburst really? So I’m the angry black guy now? I don’t care if my political beliefs are taken seriously on a sneaker forum All I know is that black people continue to struggle and I want someone who can help limit this struggle. I think a person of color would be better at this.If you don't want to expand on an outburst, then you have the option of not responding, don't be surprised no one takes your point seriously if all you want to do is yell and vent.

And it cuts both ways. If you want someone strictly because of the color of their skin you have to also accept other people in the Dem coalition strictly based on race or something else. So white people saying they don't what a black Muslim like Ellison running the DNC now has to become a valid concern too. Just because we want to throw nuance out the window.
I want black presentation and black people having more power in the Democratic Party but the case for putting people in power have to go beyond "cause they black".
Obama ravaged Hillary so badly with the black vote in 2008 not just because he was black. Because he made a great case of why he was the better choice. He was a better choice for black people and America against McCain and Romney too.
Furthermore there I would argue that real power will come from taking control at a grassroots level. We need more black people in local and State positions. More progressive black Congressmen in the House to make the CBC a force. We need to get a some black liberal Senators elected. We need to show up for primaries and midterms.
Like my man @gry60 says, we have to look beyond just want a benevolent Santa Claus, and start grabbing power that is right in front of us for the taking.
You must have missed me saying I want a “qualified” person of color. I don’t want pookie the dope boy lol. Then say it is strictly on race and let that argument be judged on those terms.

This is his shtick, people try to engage his ideas and when they disagree it is Timid time. I asked him to expand, he chose to be flippant. Now look at the strawmen he is keeps building.I dont even think dude was yelling or venting.
I understand what you are saying rusty but you obviously dont understand the mindset of poor blacks who dont understand politics when all it will take for them to get into politics is someone who looks like them I dont think there is anything wrong with that.
You should run for office or get a PhD in Political Science, I’m sure you can write a dissertation. This is his shtick, people try to engage his ideas and when they disagree he goes off on tangents to win the debate strictly by appearing he cares more. I asked him to expand, he chose to be flippant. Now look at the strawmen he keeps building.
With all due respect, miss me with the "I don't understand poor black people". I know you don't mean to insult but it is still a goal post move.
No one said anything about representation driving turnout as a politicial tool until now. I even requested dudes just keep it #1HUNNA and say it is about race
If they argument was just "Nancy is good at her job but if she was replaced with a black progressive that would be just as effective at the duties, then that may help drive the lower income black turnout" then I would agree with that sentiment, and we would be having a different discussion But that is not the argument I was presented with.
It was about not liking her, about she not be trusted, about her age, and so on. So please before you accuse me of not understand poor black people, take time to consider what arguments I am pushing back against.

I didn't call you a angry black man. But I'm not gonna act like you don't have certain style of debating that is unique to you. You wrote someone random, I asked you to expand, if you don't care. CoolAn outburst really? So I’m the angry black guy now? When the Cuban is delivered I will declare my Senate run and enroll in grad school againYou should run for office or get a PhD in Political Science, I’m sure you can write a dissertation.
I expounded though. It’s not my fault you weren’t pleased with my response.I didn't call you a angry black man. But I'm not gonna act like you don't have certain style of debating that is unique to you. You wrote someone random, I asked you to expand, if you don't care. Cool
Why not? We need more people like you with knowledge to share their knowledge. When the Cuban is delivered I will declare my Senate run and enroll in grad school again
I other words, never gonna happen.
You expended on it multiple times. I pushed back a couple times, and then reached a place where you felt it was unreasonable you give anymore.I expounded though. It’s not my fault you weren’t pleased with my response.
You’re right I should have said that the jump. Saying Pelosi must go was sensational. If the Dems don’t win the house do you think it would be time for her to go?You expended on it multiple times. I pushed back a couple times, and then reached a place where you felt it was unreasonable you give anymore.
Please go count how many post it takes you to go from "Pelsoi must got" to "I would prefer a qualified black progressive."
