you mean underexposed... overexposed there would be lense flared or burned in spots. instead you have dark shadows with little to no detail...
edit: nvm, i see what your talking about, ironically both under and over exposed.. it happens... i would just lower the contrast on both high and low... its strange usually digital is super middle value heavy, case of the exact opposite. probably from the sun being high in the sky...

As I've said before I'm really not the person to ask about digital most of my knowledge of photography is based off film photography and my actually knowledge of digital is based off like 2-3 weeks of class and conversations with professors (most of whom hold some of the most well reguarded degrees in photography, but its still 2nd hand information). so as for the UV filters affecting/improving digital, that would interesting to know, but I don't actually know for sure, but even as lense protector for $150ish lense (which is relatively cheap) its still a good buy...
