Also if we can discuss software in this thread...IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY USE MEDIAMONKEY PLEASE USE IT RATHER THAN iTUNES. MediaMonkey is hands down the BEST music management software and player out there.

For my people with SSDs:

I'm gonna have to stick with Winamp for my music.

i have carpet + dogs.

even though it's huge on my desk, it's not getting so much dust in it because it's up here. plus it's next to a window so it stays nice and cool.

Nothing compares to Mediamonkey. Winamp is nothing compared to MediaMonkey at all if you have a good sized library. I have ~12k tracks in my collection and MediaMonkey makes it so easy to edit the ID3 tags and organize them correctly. You can also auto-tag your file to either match with the filename or match it to an amazon cd listing of it.

mp3 tag does that for me though. But I see what you're saying, instead of having another program for it.
Can you change the themes on mediamonkey? that's probably why I switched because I didn't like how it looked

I have a Gateway DX442X

But I've added a few things to it since I purchased it back in Dec. 2008.

Win7 Ultimate
Intel Core2Quad Q66002.40 GHz
4GB DDR2 RAM (Planning on getting 8GB 1066 DDR3 RAM)
Nvidia GT 240 GPU
WD 640GB HDD
WD 1TB HDD
Seagate 1TB HDD
DVD Drive (Planning on ditching this drive and getting a BD drive that can rip/burn)
BD/DVD Drive
6-in-1 Card reader
Acer 22" 1080p monitor

Still runs just as fast as the day I got it.

pretty sure that the DDR3 ram will not work if the MoBo will not support it. plus, anything more than 4GB is really unneeded unless you're running VMs
