Official Paul George Thread Vol. The Future of Basketball

Pablo Jorge needs to play in a real system, not 'pass it once or twice until someone goes iso for ten seconds and takes a contested jumper.'

BCPG24's future probably consists of smashing more of his teammates' relatives and making more questionable decisions on and off the court.

I love pg game but he's not built to be by himself. He need some help, especially at the 1.

PG can never be the man...ain't built for that life...he has his moments tho

Dudes were really saying bi-curious George was better than TMac what a joke.

Kind of silly to gravedig this now. Yeah the Pacers lost , but Paul George actually had a great playoffs.

You forget this guy dropped 31 in a half to keep his team alive the other night?

With the rest of his team mentally collapsing on a nightly basis.

Great playoffs? He shot about 43% for 22.6 pts per game, which is around his season's average. Didn't really elevate his game, and goes through lapses of not doing anything

It's not all his fault people severely over-rated him too soon, he is a solid player.

Dude was throwing up shots in game 5 and they were going down I'm not impressed dude folded like a dress shirt in game 6

In all seriousness tho the kids good but I don't think he's best player on your squad good yet.

He needs some help on O and a real pg

Averaged 24pts, 10.7 rebounds, 4.6 steals with 46% shooting in the Hawks series.

Turned around the Wizards series dropping 39pts in Game 4.

Of course kept them alive against Miami with 37 the other night.

Yeah, he had some down games and he averaged 22.6 on 44% shooting.  But he also had 7.6 rbds per game, 4 assists, and generally played elite defense.

What I'm saying is, he is the reason this pathetic Pacers team got as far as they did, instead of losing to the Hawks in the first round.  It damn sure wasn't because of George Hill, Roy Hibbert, or Lance Stevenson.

He needs to get better at scoring going to the rim, more than anything.  Definitely a handles issue.

Paul George just might end up being a fraud.I like his game though.

He reminds me of Rudy Gay for some reason as said before. How Larry give you a big contract and put it in your hands and you mess it up not only ON but OFF court :rollin

Dude aint built like I thought he would be.especially not defending his own teammates and riding Brons ****

You guys are making the exact same mistake.

You all got gassed up into believing he was a top 5 player because he shot 58% from midrange for a month, now you are getting gassed up in the other direction because his squad lost to the reigning world champs.

His ceiling is a Scottie Pippen type player, a great defender, good passer, solid scorer. People who called him Tracy Mcgrady or Durant were simply being ridiculous. He was never projected to be a big time scorer coming out of college but as a do it all Pippen type, and he's well on his way to reaching that ceiling.

a better offensive system with better spacing, could unlock some latent potential as a passer, an improved post game could make him a better half court scorer, but he doesn't have the handle or the footwork to consistently penetrate and be a high level shot creator.

His passing is terrible, shot selection is terrible but I like the other aspects of his game.

I disagree, my friend. PG24 elevated his game in each series. G7 vs. Hawks, G4 vs. Wiz, G5 vs. Heat.

I don't think Paul George is done growing offensively. He needs more consistent scoring moving forward as a #1 offensive option for Indy.

NT loves them some one dimensional players

AI, Tmac, Melo.

PG is better OVERALL player than Tmac cause of that defense.

Tmac could get buckets, sure, but thats pretty much it.

PG isn't better than T-Mac.

However, you all realize this is his 4th season, right?

He's made major improvements every year.  No reason to think he won't continue to get better or has hit some type of ceiling, though his current limitations on offense are clear.  He has lots of room to grow as a player.

The Pacers as a team, on the other hand...

Sometimes I wonder how much better the Pacers would have been had Bird and Walsh been able to secure Rondo at PG, instead of George Hill running the show.

Well Rondo brings an actual offense with him, so they'd be a hell of a lot better

Pacers have Rondo at pg their a legit contender depending on what they have to give up

If the Celtics are serious about acquiring Kevin Love, Pacers can't trade for Rondo.
