Compared to the OG laces, the RLS are too skinny. They look ok on racers, but not so much on trainers.

I've been on the fence for a while now about the RLS laces... I have about 4 pairs that I'd do the swap, but is $4 each really worth it? I need a coupon code lol

can't really tell yah if they are or not, depends on how much you like the look. I do prefer them over the flat laces esp on Racers.. I did purchase 15pairs of RLS round laces on their recent restock so that prolly tells yah that I like 'em..

Yeah, the main reason for me swapping is actually because the ribbon laces always come undone on me. It's pretty annoying. I do like the rope look but they do look a tad too skinny....

I actually prefer the rope laces. In my opinion these racers are pretty ugly but the laces help and I think your idea of painting the tongue black on these will make them look significantly better. I'd like to see how this turns out.

difference in opinion, but it's cool.. this cw is one of the ones I was looking forward to pickin' up. I have passed on several cw's the past releases but these were a must have for me. only a few other ones I'm looking forward to hopefully pick up this year. with the growing popularity of Racer's, it's getting harder and harder to copp the sought after colors, esp neutrals. just glad I was able to grab the older cw's when it was a little easier to copp. I can only imagine the craziness when the mc 2.0's release.

Aside from the aesthetic differences, Racers have Zoom in the forefoot only, while Trainers have it in both the forefoot and heel.
Kinda true. Despite the name, the Trainers are a running shoe. They're definitely suitable for training/gym use though.

I sort of know what you're saying, but its inexcusable. I know of resellers on ebay who don't have physical stored or any type of sophisticated programs to keep track of inventory do a much better job than RRS.
Its ok if they don't want to cater to us. Just don't show stock being available or do pre-orders and not be able to control how many pairs they could fulfill. Its comical.
