The 1996 PSV Eindhoven kit continued the auto racing theme, but they went even bolder with the stripes using curvilinear lines to follow the shape of the torso. Inspired by graphics on cars and Op Art, the jersey also included a subtle checkered flag motif. The goal was to evoke speed and have the stripes flow around the body.​
