It depends on how well they sell.

I don't follow you at all. The new system holds it to avoid what you just described, which is the old way. You could get it in your cart and it would sell out before you checkout. If moving it into your cart now allocates it specifically to you as described, even if you have issues completing checkout you shouldn't get screwed like before. It was a longer race, now it's just a sprint to secure it to your cart and then walk it on in. Still doesn't explain why you find it MORE difficult than before.
idk maybe i tried my luck with the hypershields which sold out in under 3 min. i hope you are right.

The Bobcats have a better chance of having the best record in the NBA than these do of ever hitting Nike ID.Originally Posted by JoseBronx

I haven't purchased under the new system, but how they describe it makes it sound like Ticketmaster. If you actually get the tickets, you don't have to checkout faster than everyone else to purchase them. They are your's until the timer runs out on you or you decline to purchase. Sure, this doesn't eliminate errors with Nike's servers, but I've had stuff in my cart countless times where the server timed out on me as I made the purchase but it remained in my cart. Only... it didn't matter because they were sold out by the time I tried to complete the transaction again. Seems like this new system would remove the major obstacle I've encoutered, though surely the allocation method means inventory will be noticeably gone much quicker, whereas before you couldn't tell until after all the orders had gone through.
