highest i'll go with steak is medium-well. medium is ideal tho

If you're eating steak from a casual dining place like Chilis, Applebee's, Friday's etc, getting it well done really isn't that bad.

If you at a Ruth Chris, Morton, Perry even the Keg, you shouldn't get your steak well done.

Beef Jerkey Steak/Burgers...
If I go somewhere upscale I leave it to the chef. But I prefer that crisp/well done.
