Just dawned on me, the Panthers traded for Jared Allen rather than Alshon, which was a larger need
Ha good point. Wonder why that is.

bc we aint giving up the whole next couple drafts for Alshon...Bears gonna want a lot for him. so we gonna ride with what we got.Just dawned on me, the Panthers traded for Jared Allen rather than Alshon, which was a larger need

Chicago really is blowing it all up now :x.
Bears need to stop messing around and try winning some games.
Goff is the 49ers QB of the future, not the Bears.
IMO, you wouldn't have to trade the future for him. Bears are losing leverage, now that teams pretty much know its a fire sale. A 2nd rounder and a little more could get him. Plus Alshon grew up in the Carolina area, so I'm sure he would be excited to play there (plus having Cam & KB as weapons). It just seems like a perfect fit.bc we aint giving up the whole next couple drafts for Alshon...Bears gonna want a lot for him. so we gonna ride with what we got.Just dawned on me, the Panthers traded for Jared Allen rather than Alshon, which was a larger need
RR and Gettleman are sold on the wr core we got.

49ers seem like the kind of team that would take Connor Cook over Jared Goff
or Christian Hackenberg...unless Houston picks before them
Alshon to Detriot to catch deep bombs with CJ & Tate
Andy Reid has shown in the past that he knows how to maximize various quarterbacks, I don't think his system is the problem with Alex Smith. He's probably just playing around his limitations.
A KC sports radio guy that I trust said this this morning...
"(Andy Reid) allows Alex Smith to be Alex Smith." SO true. 100%.
People can talk all they want that Alex Smith is scared to throw the ball downfield. Well, when his coach is calling a play where DAT receives the ball 6 yards behind the LOS on 3rd and 5...the coach has an issue.

He said he didn't see Jamaal's "belt" celebration but hes sure that State Farm was loving it... Not sure that was what he was referring to.
Someone school me on Hackenberg.
Haven't watched a lot of PSU, but from looking at the stats...what gives?

he has "all the tools you can't teach"
Oh I get why he was fired completely. When the Eagles were doing well, people don't realize how good those coaching staffs were.. It wasn't just Andy
When that started falling apart, so did the Eagles.. Young guy didn't get a fair enough shake (McDermott)
Then you had just terrible decisions on the defensive side of the ball that was the final straw.. He hired a defensive line coach and then went out to interview DC candidates, when that line approach affects everything else that would be done by the defense.. Which lead to the offensive line coach being named the DC.. And you have Bowles buried under all of that as the secondary coach
Then you have the stuff that was going on with his kids
But, when you have a 3rd and 5...and bring DAT into the game. EVERYONE knows he's getting the ball. So, why in the world are you calling a play where he is the #1 receiver on a bubble pass 6 yards behind the LOS.I agree with 10027. It seems like a case of Andy accentuating Smith's strengths and hiding his weaknesses. Alex can only do so much, so it's a limited game plan
