OFFICIAL NEW YORK KNICKS OFFSEASON THREAD: TRAINING CAMP

true story ^
He wasn't designated as THE guy on the squad,
i swear he was IT's pet Knick at some point last season

@ us having the biggest losing backcourt of all time.

I mean it's still the Garden and the Knicks.

And then...it's well, the Nets.

I can't see his relationship with Jay Z being THAT strong to chose the Nets over the Knicks.

He's a fan of D'Antoni too, If I'm not mistaken. And that style of play favors his game.

Jay is his idol and good friend...

Nets will have a way better roster on paper now and in 2010....

Its a new start for a new franchise in his favorite borough....

If it comes down to to the Nets or Knicks...he's going to the Nets.

You can bet money on that. Bron is the posterchild for the new NBA...he's going to want to be the face of a new franchise in Americas coolest county.

I just can't see it with money being equal.

I also gota wait and see who is more patient with their roster...

I don't know... the man has an ego, and I hope that ego is big enough to think he can turn around this mess

My question is that what will happen to the Knicks if Lebron goes to the Nets? Like, we will be irrelevant.

As long as LeBron would be a Net, we would take a backseat. No doubt in my mind.
Barring injury...By that time, he'll be undisputed best player onthe planet.

You know it's sad when both local teams are trying to free cap space 3 years down the line for a player they are not even guaranteed to obtain.

But what can you do.

for real.

cats acting like he's a lock to go to either team....people on Madison Ave slobbering over the marketing opportunities...he's not a lock to goanywhere....and knowing a cat like Bron who's VERY media trained, there'll be a "Cavs are my first option" sorta thing going on.

A man like him is not built for Cleveland.

He was born to play in NY, LA, Chicago.

The Cavs will either need to really improve that team, which doesn't seem possible.

Or he is going to put them on his back to the Finals again, and that success might be enough for him to stick around.

but things keep at this pace...he'll be gone. And these 2 places are very likely.

I think he's a lock to go to one of the NY teams....

We need to find someone to take on Curry or Randolph. Hopefully Curry or Randoplh looks impressive enough in midseason for trade bait

Resign Nate, Naldo and Lee, pray on having a good draft (praying for Lance Stephenson) and hope Danilo can be something.

Bron could average like 35 a game in D'Antoni's offense.

I personally don't care what a player makes (ie Crawford), but at least dude plays like he actually cares.

There are a lot of players who don't even TRY and have their mind elsewhere besides the hardwood, those are the players I SMH at.

JJs (both of them now that i think about it) agents prolly was laughing at Thomas at the signing.

HORRIBLE contact.

idiot signing no name players who put up "big" numbers in their contract years. biggest trick in the book. and this fool fell for it. JJ got torchedby Bron and got more than he deserved out of it. SMH

The pessimist in me just thinks he'll go the Nets and the Knicks will continue to be a laughing stock. But obviously this roster won't be the same, sohopefully add a few more pieces, and everyone works well under D'Antoni, as well as getting under the cap which is the most important issue.

At this point, I'd be more surprised if he stays in Cleveland, barring any major changes the team makes to put better players around him. I'm hopingthat there's trouble in building the arena in BK and that the Nets don't move at least not until Lebron can sign with the Knicks

so do y'all think lee is safe for the summer?

it would be foolish to give him an extension now. with all these other ******ed contracts, we need to maintain some dudes that aren't making stupidamounts.

i would rather trade him this summer, get full value for him, than let him walk in 09

and i don't think duhon is worth what he's getting at this juncture

bassy is quicker, has better handles, and is a better shooter

and he prolly would've taken less money to play at home

Duhon is a better floor leader, which is what we need. He never, ever seems to turn the ball over and to be honest he's exactly the type of player thisteam needs. All he does is get the job done and is someone who will defer to his teammates. And saying Bassy is a better shooter is like asking which skunkstinks more.
