The J. Crews are nice, but don't stack up high against their past NB collabs IMO. Butterscotch, Cortado, Concrete Jungle, Inferno, etc....still sought after and hard to find. The designer who did all those gems was Addi Hou by the way (https://www.addihou.com/sneakers-shoes). I'll pass on these (for now). Red Wings were the shoe for me this month.

Edit: Addi Hou left J. crew a few years ago.

I was getting the dark shale vibe too... Why do you think NB1 barely had Dark Shale suede option available?​

no idea...was available a couple of times for a week each...never got to use that suede on a pair, only the mesh. NB1 colors really need to get updated...they’ve run out of 4 suede colors since these options came out

I like the J Crews- probably the snake a little more because the bear just loses the clean appeal that we like for NB. Too many clashing colors.

But the red wings, any of the 577s that dropped, the EGs, and both of the grey day 997s are all superior IMO.

That extra 20 is the difference for me. If they were 180 I’d go right away and for 200 I’d probably do one of them but not for 220 and tax. That’s stupid expensive.

The Cortados are dope yahmean.. My favorite J Crew 997 are these Snakes and the Butterscotches.. It amazing that these joints are still sitting and a Ronnie Collab would be long gone by now.. J. Crew & Concepts are my favorite USA boutique collabs.

Hey all. I’m a super long time on and off lurker from around 2012 ish. Big NB fan ever since I found the 990, I’ve always been looking for that perfect shoe for that all day comfort. Living in Detroit the closest store that supplies any made in us/uk models is Premier and Burn Rubber (sometimes). So I’ve only been able to try on different NB models through trial and error in buying them second hand. So this is probably a stupid question but before I put any $$$ towards the 577 I wanted to know the difference in comfort between the 990v5 and the 577. Like is it a huge difference, which would be better for all day walking around, etc.

Yeah big homie they had them available for the first two weeks of the Mesh 998's then another 2 weeks for the Perf Suede 998's then the same thing for the Mesh 997 release and the Perf Toe 997 NB1's. These were my favorite creation using the Dark Shale suede..
