It means that if a ball is hit toward 2nd base(grounder or liner) or between SS and 3B. He doesn't have the speed or quickness to get to thatball. Which is true because he doesn't. Like those turn around jump throws which look awesome are results of his lack of range. He should be making someof those types of plays routinely without having to make the jump throws. It's age, but then again he was never that great defensively anyway. Eventhough he did win a gold glove somehow. I tried to argue against him losing too much range, but well he did and he def should be moved to left field orsomething. I think his rating was like a -93 over the course of 2 years. Can someone explain to me what people mean when they say Jeter doesn't have range?
So far this season I haven't seen him out of place on defense so far this season.
