So what do you guys think?
Do you think we still got a chance to turn this around?
Unlike all the Chicken Little fans that we have, we are not out. The D-Backs have owned the NL West, something we are unable to do. However, we play the NL West for the entire month of September, and the Pirates. The Diamondbacks play the St. Louis Cardinals 8 times in September. It seems like everyone expected us to beat the Phillies 8 times in a row. Granted, we haven't looked good the past two games, or 5 out of the last 7. This team just has to take care of business against the cellar dwellers. I don't know if San Francisco and San Diego play harder against us or if we just play down to our competition.
We need to get one out of the next two against the Phillies and then sweep the Nats. Then go into Arizona and try to win 2 out of 3.
It's crazy how the pitching has just been horrible and the worst time of the season.
I don't think you want to take two games at Citizen's Bank Park as a sample. The pitching has been inconsistent all year, and the wearand tear of being overused is getting to the bullpen. Park, Kuo, Beimel, Broxton, Wade and the rest of the gang have been great all year. However, they areshowing signs of fatigue.
The starting rotation has been dissapointing IMO. Penny has been injured all year, Kershaw and Kuroda have been inconsistent. Kuroda will throw a gem one dayand then get rocked in his following start. Lowe has had some shaky starts, but has been great. He just doesn't get run support. Hopefully, Fridaysstart was a fluke for Greg Maddux. The only consistent starter has been Chad Billingsley.
This race will go to the end. Hopefully.
