I think this team has the highest likelihood of repeating as champions compared to every other defending champion since 2001. But ultimately you gotta play the games and you gotta win games in October and on paper doesn’t always guarantee anything.

The closest we’ve had to a repeat champ was the 2001 Yankees. Aside from that the 2009 Phillies are the only defending World Series champion to make it back to the World Series the following season. I don’t give a damn what this team does during the regular season. Just stay healthy, I don’t need 100+ wins. Just need the bats and rotation to be clicking in October and potentially early November.

Without a mass food poisoning or infectious disease outbreak among the team, I cannot for the life of me see this team lose more than 2 in seven games. The only thing I can see stopping this team for the next several years is a hitting funk in the best-of-5 division series.
