The thing about Westbrook and bones... But specifically Westbrook, is you have to play him.
He's gonna eat into minutes that those players need to be successful.
I'd like to think that the clippers from office has told Westbrook that they don't need him to shoot any outside shots at all. If like to think that they told him that drive and kick is gonna be what the clippers need from him.
But Westbrook won't listen. He is who he is. The "second half" of this season isn't enough time to play with this team. There's already several pieces added that actually have this team looking much better. Not sure why the clippers would want to add a stick of dynamite to the equation.
Not a fan of this move whatsoever.
Statistically, shooting the ball and with turnovers, wall is like Spider-Man pointing at Spider-Man with Westbrook.Wall was quietly worse than Russ this season. I think the team will face the same issues they had with Wall though. I agree he shouldn’t take 3’s, but if he flat out doesn’t shoot any, that also hurts us with spacing. We’re already turnover prone, adding this guy is just gonna make it worse. Starting him over Mann would be awful. If he is gonna start, I would be interested to see this lineup at least once.
Russ
Mann
PG
Kawhi
Zu
With the bench unit being:
EJ
Norm
Morris
Batum
Plumlee
And then that means little-to-no minutes for Bones. Not that he’s been good in his first 2 games though.
We’ll see how it plays out. My expectations is that this will be the worst roster move in the history of the franchise. Anything other than that would be a pleasant surprise to me.
Damn, I just saw rfx45 alrrady said everything I said a few posts earlier
Agreed. I don't really worry about how it will effect Mann long term because he's shown he's a gamer starting or coming off the bench. But we've been good with him starting, so its an "if it aint broke" situation to me.Russ starting over Morris is something I can maybe get behind. Starting over Mann while Mann is playing at this level, is not the move.
There was another guy on that Laker team that didn't accept he isn't the #1 option anymore and can't defend or shoot.he can never or ever will accept the fact that he isnt the a star and #1, #2, #3, #4 or #5 option anymore
thats the problem, with the lakers he came off the bench but still played 30min a game and acted like he can win it by himself
he cant defend
he cant shoot
IT JUST DOESNT MAKE SENSE
They're jumping in head first by starting him, so we should find out pretty quick how bad or good this move is.Like I said to lawdog1 in the NBA thread. I'm give the Westbrook experiment 15 games before it's over. I wanna say 10 games... But I'll give it 15.
