Colorways save the shoe game period. Imagine if every shoe just had a white version and a black version, would you still be into shoes? most likely no.
I agree with this. Having options is always a plus with sneakers and many other things in life.Originally Posted by andfattoo
sorry........... but Nike, keep the colorways coming. If you dont like the colorway, dont buy it. its good to have options.

I fail to see how SIGNIFICANT changes a shoe makes each year tech wise. Its all marketing so the shoe would sell, cause it DOES have to be marketed as a performance shoe. Huarache 2k4's and BB4's are still some of the BEST performing shoes and they are like 8 years old.
Gonna second the above. Nike's going full out with the gimmicks today - and the price point keeps rising. Eventually the whole cycle might come around full circle and the 'latest tech' will be a shoe with a full grain leather upper and forefoot/heel Air.
we wanted more because of the designs of the VIIs and VIII's as opposed to the V's and VI's?Originally Posted by NikeDealer

There is truth to this in some regards as I said early on with the 1st Generation Flywire.... but if you have EVER been to the Kitchen or the Nike Lab in Beaverton and see all the testing they do you will realize they dont mess around when it comes to inventing or conceptualizing new tech.
What happens often though is they research new advances they could use in footwear... determine its too much to actually produce then scale it down to make it more feasible and market the actual initial concept.
To your point of marketing.
To the point of old tech still working.. thats also true because other shoe companies dont come close to the offerings Nike does but still sustains their business. Reebok was forced to make up that zig tech crap and Adi came up with that Climacool stuff... but eva is what it is.. and Nike still uses it in ALOT of Jordan team footwear and Nike forefoot footwear do that alone tells you its functional...
Yet Nike markets its new tech as such and tells you they sell the old stuff for people who have different needs and pricepoints. Even though Jordans from 1986 and on are resold for more than they originally did. Hence Marketing Genius.
By the way... the X... will please many. Dont expect the treatment you got on the 9's though.. Remember the treatment on the V's and VI's... ? then the VIIs and VIIIs we were left wanting more? Expect that replay.
