Just consider..

This is RETAIL sales.. not what Adi even SELLS to Retail for.. so take about 55% off that number and they are barely breaking even on the marketing, advertising and paying of the athlete not to mention all the people who work on his shoe.

By the By..

Someone earlier in the thread called this out and I never thought anyone would pick up on it.. but it proves the genius that is Nike.

The X is basially the VIII v2 with a different design and sole.

Same Material same cost to make.  Higher Profit Margin.

did you guys read that full tweet? in the comments under it...he explained why jordan has 2 bill. it includes all of jordans merchandise PLUS cp3's, melo's, and everyone else on jordan brand. thats ALOT of market share when you think of it that way. imagine if they calculated nike by all the basketball players under their label and not just on an individual basis. youd have to combine lebron, kobe, durant, then the gym lines etc...

You know what..thats prob why I like the X as much as I do. It essentially has the same silhouette as the VIII (which I love) and a reverse swoosh (which I love) lol.

The price of the X's are ehhh which is why I only have one so far. $20-40 more than the VIII
