I think after reading these debates Imma cop this album n disect. I'm never one to run out n purchase, it usually takes me a while to find out someone's put out some wonderful work.
With that being said I can fully relate with the point trim is trying to get across to y'all. It brings me a vision of what this album must be. The last time I had that vision was when MAKAVELI came out.

With that being said I can fully relate with the point trim is trying to get across to y'all. It brings me a vision of what this album must be. The last time I had that vision was when MAKAVELI came out.

The album just draws from the entire black experience there's truly been nothing like it in its entirety.

"King Kunta" could be in the middle of the Chronic and it would fit perfectly.

"These Walls" coulda been on Midnight Maraurders or Like Water For Chocolate. It's THAT soulful.

"Alright" is as good as a lyrical display by an MC riding the double time flow since BIG on "Notorious Thugs". And the song is as hype as ANYthing crunk music has ever produced.

The story telling on "How Much A Dollar Cost" is as entertaining, attention grabbing, and thrilling as anything Slick Rick.Ghost.NaS.or BIG have done but it's as heart felt as a 2Pac record.

"Blacker The Berry" is as unapologetically black as early NWA. Cube. PE or dead prez have ever made.

"Mortal Man" is like NaS "what goes around" x 2Pac "Against All Odds"

It's just an overall body of work. I refuse to call it an album. This is a survival Manuel. This is our ancestors speaking to us. This is "Physical and mental" like he said 4 years ago. This is SOUL music. This one's for the spirit.band not everybody is gonna understand that.

Nothing wrong with that. But if you got the knowledge of self this is gonna be spiritual healing for you. This is the type of work you suggest to ANYone hip hop fan or not. I feel like if you black understanding this album could mean the difference between freedom and slavery. Life or death. And I mean that physically and spiritually.

Systematic. And good ole fashion racism and my opinion on an album deeply offends some. It's very telling. It lets you know they enjoy the music. They'll (try to) dance to it. Go to concerts and all but when it comes to following through with the messages of the music they're nowhere to be found. These are the people he talkin bout on "Mortal Man". These erase history hold hands type.

If the only way you can respect me is NOT seeing my skin color you have the problem NOT me. I want you to see the fact that I'm black and BETTER respect it. I ride with Kendrick 100% on EVERYthing this album represents. And when I met him Thursday I looked him in his eye and let him know that.

The beauty of this album is as BLACK as it is, anyone can enjoy it. But everybody ain't gonna be about that life. They just enjoy our culture they don't really enjoy us as people unless your the forgiving non confrontational safe negro. Racism is just a prevalent within hip hop fans as it is in any other walk of life and thats why records like "Alright", "Blacker The Berry" & "Mortal Man" exist. Kendrick knows y'all don't **** with us forreal you're just entertained by our GOD given gifts and creativity.

Finally finished listening to this album...

This album is far different from "G.O.O.D. Kid, M.A.A.D. City". Everything from the instrumentation to some of the subject matter.

I'm glad Kendrick dared to experiment and try something different. This kid has a classic mixtape and two classic albums. This guy is here to stay.

It's not even a rap album to me, honestly. More like a music album. It's just pure music and spoken word. I didn't think he could top his classic debut...

Ladies and Gentemen, Kendrick has done jus' that.
