If KD does decide to go to UA I guess the Global Games are going to become the new Red Octobers for real :lol

I don't want KD to jump ship but how do you turn down $30M a year. Nike ain't matching that, it sets a precedent for what they pay their athletes...
30mil a year? For KD, WOW. That should be the easiest decision of his life.

Read the Baltimore Sun article. Man, $30 Mil a year is insane. He sold $175 Mil worth of shoes last year. Nike isn't trying to lost that much profit.

If I was UA, I'd try to recreate the Air Jordan origin, combining great tech with sensible aesthetics. I'm not mad. Nike isn't the only game in town. I'm happy companies like Li Ning, UA are coming up. And Adidas and Reebok doing their thing.

The only head scratcher was KD going to the Wizards. Ugh, terrible idea. Probably better to go to the Knicks.
Totally agree with you. I think Nike will do whatever they can to keep KD.

i was gonna wear my gg's this weekend , but now i'm gonna wait just in case he leaves so i can resell them for more money

Here's my two cents on the Under Armour deal and what KD should do.

In the beginning of his career KD wanted to keep his shoes under 100 dollars so that they would be affordable for everyone. Despite the price increase, now up to $150 KD's sneakers remain the least expensive of Nike's signature basketball shoes. Over this time period there has also been a period of what I call "sneaker inflation" under which almost all sneaker prices have risen, especially in the basketball category. Along with these prices there have been significant performance enhancements however. From Zoom in the II's then up to the VII which has zoom, air max, and posite it is clear why the price has risen, but I still think in terms of the performance KD's shoes are the biggest bang for your buck. His sneaker's prices have risen, but so have their design, materials, and technologies. Other sigs such as Kobes have seen price increases, without much improvement in performance or technology at least between the 8 and 9.

So even though KD may not have kept true to his word about affordability, he is still providing the biggest bang for your buck at Nike in my eyes. Along with this he has formed relationships at Nike and I think he is very comfortable with the designers and the end result of his product. Would Under Armour pay more, well probably and it offers the DMV area feel, however they are unproven as far as signatures, despite having a decent technology in their Micro-G cushioning. So even though people think he is going to sign with Under Armour because of his home roots being the DMV. I think he will stay with Nike because that is where his sneaker roots are.

He will stay with nike

All the dudes saying kd wont turn down 30 mill a year forget kd already has more than enough money than he knows what to do with.

He made over 30 million this year off nba salary and endorsements

30 mill, if true, is icing on the cake. The cherry on top.

Under armor would be taking a huge risk as well.

Can they move a shoe at a 140-160 price range?

They wont be selling a sig shoe for cheap especially if the 30 million a year is indeed true.

Has kd spoken yet?

Actions speak louder than words. He's already said it without uttering a word
