Comme des Garçons are lazy. The galaxies got clowned but at least they are somewhat trying with those. Its like damn if you do, damn if you don't with the 11's. People just want the nostalgic colorways when it comes to that model

It’s not lazy, it’s just the style. Not for everyone, not for most people at that price and quantity produced but it’s very similar to their approach with all of their other collabs. Definitely the highest quality leather to make it on an XI.
This is like saying Jjjound is lazy. It’s just a basic aesthetic they consistently use. Again, not for most people nor is it trying to be.

CDG footwear collabs aren't for people who buy the sneaker brand - asics, nike, jordan, whatever. It's the footwear offerings for the people buying CDG season to season. To us, it's jordan 11s. To them, it's CDG sneakers.

I think that’s why they waited so long to do any collabs. All these college cws, the ones last year, new collabs… it won’t last that long. I don’t think making XIs limited helps either. Clearly they’d love to push their most expensive model at $235 for GRs and probably $275 for a collab (not the CDG). But I don’t really see exclusivity turning XIs into IVs in term of hype or sales. The market is more likely to pass on most of them than consider them “must haves”.

They suck but IDC.. I didn't ask for them anyway but it couldve been better. The CDG Foams are the best collab they've ever done. On a GR note, JB and Nike have forgotten how to take a classic and change the base color like all the 2000s Bos and AM 95s, could take Concords and just swap out the PL for Red, Royal, Navy, Purple, easy layups.

The correct way to do it would be seed each color to a player on a team with corresponding colors. Do a slight PE tweak with the number on the back or text on the tongue. Then drop GRs of those 4-6 mos later. They sell and have some connection to teams and players people actually want to rep.

You're thinking of CDG PLAY with the heart logo.
That's different than regular CDG and not what this collab is.

I gotta say the worst part of those CDGs is that patent midsole. Will scuff to hell and if you look at closeups it looks all nasty around the edges. And even the glue job on this pair looks like a poor reglue from a n00b

This model should be a no brainer but swaggerless individuals are in charge of JB so here we are....
Space jam color blocking with yellow , red , blue , purple jumpmans is a rinse and repeat...
An all brown 11 with green accents for a winter time theme.
Concord color blocking with a variety of different colored accents can be rinsed and repeated as well...
Keep the 11 model limited and the colorways easy to digest...
Most of us are between 40-55 years old.. sneakers arent that serious for us to care that much anymore anyways...

Nah, what you posted is too obvious and the opposite of being creative.
Doing less is CDG's theme anyway.
And they were actually "creative" coming up with a patent leather midsole for the first time on a Jordan XI. I don't necessarily like it...but to your point it's actually something creative rather than just plastering their logo on the shoe.
