How can you say that just b/c DMX dropped 2 albums in 98 that both sold millions didnt mean he was taking all the oxygen, Vol 2. dropped in 98 and sold millions and that was when Jay moved to superstar status, the 3 of them were the biggest rappers at the time and it was close and DMX wasn't clearly the biggest. They were the big 3 until Eminem came onto the scene a couple years later

jay did admittedly 'dumb down' his flows. he was like 'you can't give 'em too much; it'll choke 'em'. looks like to me he figured out the recipe. nas is not entertaining at all to me. Quality lyricists, maybe the greatest, but i do not enjoy listening to him. same with j cole.
