+++OFFICIAL JAY Z THREAD+++

Just copped the Tickets to the JT/ Hov concert not much of a fan of JT but hell the tickets came up to 140 for on the field tickets and hearing them perform new material should be awesome.... next ? is how can i sneak liquor into Yankee stadium
If Yankee stadium allows outside water bottles to be brought in by the public, just dump the water out and put vodka in there and stroll on in.

Watching a bit of that Jay interview with BBC radio and I find it funny and ironic that two of the best cuts on WTT, No Church In The Wild and Made In America, were inspired by Oceans and Holy Grail. From the way Jay describes it Kanye begged him to put Oceans/Holy Grail on WTT. I admit it would've made that album even better. But this is all funny to me because I've heard so many Kanye stans say that Ye was the mind and inspiration on WTT and that his vision is what carried the project. When in fact, it sounds like Jay had plenty to do with how the album came out. I hope WTT2 is an album full of these kind of songs.

Just went to the show last night in Toronto.

It was a good show, but....
Jay didn't perform much from MC+HG.

Pretty much like 3 songs?

The question was asked earlier in here if Jay Z has dropped the hyphen in name............

Thanks for the info. I noticed this when I bought the Barclays concert album off iTunes and just thought they made a mistake. Whats he gonna do when he performs Dead Presidents then? Hes actually referenced the hyphen a couple of times thought it was dope that he actually considered it a part of his name.

I wonder what the reasoning was behind that.

This will be the 2nd time he dropped a dash.

Well at least he closed out Summer Jam this year, that's an accomplishment in itself I guess

.
Didn't they cut his mic off?
Yeah, I think they realized they made a mistake by having French Montana close out the concert so they cut his mic off immediately, and for good reason.
Thanks for the info
No doubt.

I'm guessing the setlist was the same as the show here in London?

Here he performed Holy Grail, Tom Ford, Crown, ****withmeyouknowihotit and Somewhere in America

Overall.. Definitely one of the best concerts I've been to :hat

Dog if this show on Saturday at Yankee Stadium gets rained out I'm gonna be pissed.

Anyone have any insight to what happens due to a rain cancellation?

Any info would be appreciated.

IIRC according to ticketmaster, event is rain or shine

Good post. I would like a Nas and Jay album to make up for all the mediocre tracks they've made together.

That would NEVER work... Hell WTT was a very good album yet people treated it like it was blah because they literally expected the best album EVER.... the expectations for this would be even bigger than that, the chemistry isn't as good & all your gonna have is cats wanting a illmatic/reasonable doubt mashup :{

For outside concerts like this the stage where the performers (JT/Jay Z) would be is covered so barring a massive type of monsoon or something like that the concert probably won't be cancelled due to rain.

Last 1/3 of Picasso Baby reminds me of the 99 Problems beat.

*Antidop :eek @ the plays you've given the songs on MCHG. You giving that album the Larry Johnson treatment, and you're Herm Edwards. :lol
