ight..i was tryna restore the 1 gen iphone on the mac and a pc and i kept gettnig error 23..i was tryna restore it to the latest firmware..so im guessing2.2..but i think it might be the usb im using..not sure though..

Instead of hitting restore, click update, see if that works.
And backup your phone before you do that.
