Typing this on the sad Frontier flight home. Side rant but on Friday they were texting us weather and status updates like over an hour late. We got texts saying that departure is at 5:30 when it’s 6:45 and we’re all huddled at the gate
Friday got in extra late because of Vegas weather. My friends and I all took the same flight, some bought insurance and got a free ride. I kept my $3
Landed to no rain and clearing skies. Got to our hotels, checked in settled in etc. Sandwich trick was epic fail. Decided on Havana 1951 for a late dinner. Cuban food, some dishes were ok but the folks who got the ropa vieja all had to send them back because it was super salty. My cubano was pretty salty too and I looked it had a layer of ropa vieja with the pork. At least I had bread to neutralize the salt. Finished up and headed to our hotels. Stopped by some video poker and dropped a quick 60 before calling it a night.
Saturday morning I went with the guys and gal who golf to TopGolf. I’d never been before but wanted to check it out. It was pretty cool the atmosphere is fun, they were giving me instruction on posture and position etc and what clubs to use. I was so worried about slamming the club into the turf that I kept hitting the ball over the top lol. It was fun to try at least.
Homegirl is diamond at Caesars so we got a cabana for 12 at the Jupiter pool through her host. I thought $50 min spend per person would be overkill but my $26 chicken strips and fries with $15 service fee said otherwise. Pool was fun, having a spot to drink and eat and chill in the shade is so clutch. Was able to do some laps and burn some calories for the night ahead. Headed back to our hotels to get ready. Had a reservation at Peter Luger for dinner, celebrating me and my boy’s birthdays and our friends’ anniversary. The signature porterhouse is good but that rib steak/ribeye will stay in my dreams. The two of us got free desserts, one was a regular ice cream sundae in a tall glass the other was legit a bowl of whipped cream with some chocolate syrup

like why?
Had another reservation for Clique lounge at Cosmo and trekked over there. They’re setting up F1 infrastructure so the sidewalks outside Bellagio are blocked and everyone and their mama had to go through the Bellagio itself and that place is packed normally so it was a hassle. Clique was alright, typical ultra lounge loud DJ crowded walkways uncomfortable seating. But it’s nice to hang out and chill and have fun with your crew even if you have to scream to hear each other. NGL I did head to the restroom a few times and threw a 20 in some slots on the way back lol. Between the bottle/beer at the cabana pregaming before and after dinner and the lounge a few folks were heading south. Had to end the night with oxtail soup at the Cal. FYI it’s $26.99 now

. Split up headed back to our hotels. I stuck around the Harrah’s casino floor to finally get some gamblor time in, settled for solo craps. $200 in $600+ out, felt really good. Went up for the weekend thus far.
Sunday morning got up packed showered etc and checked out. Some folks ended up leaving on earlier flights back so there was 5 of us left standing. Went to Bacchanal for brunch. It’s crazy how different the line/wait is for dinner vs lunch. The prime rib and crab legs are there and little to no waiting. Had my usual 3 plates of prime rib lol and a bit of other stuff. Wish the slices were warmer though

. Two more left early so three of us left, they were at Venetian so they planned on taking off to the airport from there so I stuck around Caesars. Got hammered at solo craps, still at the very least even for the trip gambling-wise.
Got to the airport while it was boarding, our gate is a tram gate so jumped on texted my friend I’m on the tram. He goes “they changed it” checked my pass again when I got out and it’s back the at the terminal

thanks for the heads up Frontier. Was able to catch the same tram back at least. Boarded with the last folks had to gate check my carry-on

and wait in that hot sweaty jet bridge
I prefer live craps tables 1000% but not at $15 minimum even at Harrah’s in the morning but I guess that’s just Vegas now. Resort fees are just gonna keep going up because eff them kids
Lot of football fans not just Bears fans for the Raiders game folks with all kinds of jerseys on. Sports books were packed.
Aside from flight problems it was a great trip. We used to go twice a year when we were young and free but now we’re old with kids and jobs. I bankrolled for a lot more gambling than I did this trip

but coming home with money is nice. And the time spent with the homies is priceless.
