Do they ever say how the WW's in fact became WW's?
Post in spoiler, pls.
Regarding the show, they showed it during the episode titled "Oathkeeper" from season 4.
The scene where the "WW King" makes his first appearance.
He turns Craster's last son (remember Craster would sacrifice his male heirs to the WW's) into one of them.
I'm sure there are other methods but that's the only one I'm privy to.
