I thought the episode was boring besides Snow climbing Mount Everest and the ending

"A sword swallower through and through" Candidate for line of the year?
I will admit so far this was the most boring ep this season. Outside of some dialogue, the best part was how they ended the ep but if you're not in to watching Theon get tortured, see a kid getting sold, more pity for Jamie, boring wall climbing with a cliche ending, and Sansa's naivety there wasn't much this ep. Total transitional episode but I aint mad, still stuff to discuss about it.

Anyone else think the Theon torture scenes are pretty pointless? It's just week after week of the same thing and its leading nowhere fast. I think there was a question about how these scenes compared with the book and, not sure if spoilery, but they weren't included in the novel at all. Theon's story picks up in the novels after all this occurs and I can kind of see why now.
The escape and return to dungeon was pretty interesting chain of events. But I wouldn't say pointless. And yeah in books Theon wasn't even in two books which were years apart, which would end up being 3-4 season of him just being completely missing. I rather at least see a bit of him then not seem him for 4 years.

I'm good with one boring episode after 5 great episodes. This episode wasn’t even that bad.

At least it isn't as bad as TWD. Like 7 straight zzzzzzz episodes lol

so if the books don't really touch on theon till later on...whats good with theon in the show? its been like 3 or 4 eps of him getting trolled/tortured and i don't feel its going anywhere. is this dude gonna catch a break or what.

Theon's whole story's been a bore to me. Aside from the troll.. I don't even care about where that's headed.

People don't like when characters just disappear completely. People didn't like that he was gone for 2 books, they won't like him being gone for 3 seasons.

Its the same concept in what they did with Jamie last season. Jaime didn't get released til this book, but they decided to release him early, and start showing the interactions between him and Brienne during last season, rather than just have him sitting locked in a cell the entire season.

A lot happens to Theon, and in books you don't find out about details til 5th book but its ongoing now. Can't really skip it all then just later mention it in flashbacks or the thoughts of characters like they do in book.

Gonna catch a break?
not really

like someone said. its basically to keep him relevant and so you won't be confused 2 years from now in season 5. (not going to give away more of the story)

yea dude HBO doesn't do her justice unless she does sex scenes. this woman is beautiful. would simp hard..
They did her justice in season 1. She got no nudity clause now.
Also too bad they killed off Irri...

that's absurd. and ruins some of the clothing she should be wearing since its hot. the book always talk about that side boob and nip slips

Yeah, It's not that the torture wasn't happening (because it was during this book) it's just that we never had any Theon chapters. If you haven't read the books, let me explain. Each chapter is a different character's point of view and there is no overarching narrator so you only know what's going on from certain people and if those certain people are around other characters.

In books 3/4 Theon was no where to be seen and other people just heard rumors about what was going on.

I'm a little confused as to why that red lady took away that guy who wanted to join the brotherhood (sorry, I forget the names) I have
a theory, but if it's right I don't want to spoil it for everyone. Is it generally known why he was chosen amongst the non book readers?

I haven't read the book, but I assume it's because he's Robert's bastard and she's got some crazy lord of light plan for him

She took him because he has baratheon blood in him, and she needs someone with Kings Blood in them.

In books he never was taken:
(not much of a spoiler since it isn't happening on show)
In books she wants to take Edric Storm, who was another one of Robert's bastard sons. He hasn't been mentioned and doesn't seem to exists on the TV series, and Gendry is going to absorb his role it seems. How that effects Gendry story from here on out we'll have to see

^^^ in regards to that spoiler. They showed him a few episodes ago. He's dead. He was Stannis' still born son.

^^ oh yeah. That's right. Stannis said he had kings blood and she said that he wasn't the only one..

In books there is an Edric Storm, who is another one of Robert's bastard son. Unlike Robert's other bastards, he actually acknowledge him as his son.
In TV there was Edric Baratheon who was Stannis and his wife's stillborn son.

Based on that we can assume there will be no Edric Storm on TV.
