My brother did the same last week :lol
Rewatching the series was nothing short of :hat

Although, I almost walked out the room for the red wedding scene. Only stayed to record his reaction, and all the kid could say was "well ****. That got outta hand quick" :{

I wouldn't compare the two shows. One is one man's journey discovering himself and his transformation, the other is a fantasy epic of what so far seems to be failure, betrayal, and power.

Both descriptions fit BB.
When did BB become a fantasy epic? :lol Maybe you got a loose definition of the fantasy genre and the word epic. Now while BB may deal with failure and power and even some betrayal it's largely one man's journey where as GoT's format has made it so the it's like multiple fairy tales gone wrong. It's not just about one person, it's more like The Wire the way they have so many story lines and new characters popping up (it's surpassed The Wire as far as new characters though :lol ). So I can't say I agree.
look i understand what yall are saying but do you really think that will stop ppl who want to make the comparison?

like mainstream media for example?
No not at all but those ppl are dumb.

Even before these shows I've seen ppl compare other shows that are so wildly different I can't even fathom what they're even comparing when they say one is better than the other. I mean I also say BB is very different than The Wire but at least they have some similar elements. GoT though? That's like comparing Godfather 2 to LoTR and really trying to make ppl believe you're comparing the two.

Because people have to tell you what's the best tv show ever even though there's no way to prove it. They want to convince everyone else their favorite show is the best.

ok so i guess my question is reframed as:

will game of thrones become or is it already more popular/critically acclaimed than breaking bad?

Breaking bad wasn't even the most watched show on AMC, that title belongs to the critically acclaimed The Walking Dead.

I think it's already more popular given it's ratings. BB wasn't popular until like S3 and got to it's height of popularity in the last two halves of S5 when it was actually dominant.

GoT be getting 10+ million viewers during eps in the middle of the season not just premieres and finales and that's been going on since like S2.

As far as critically acclaimed though, the acting in BB is better but the story telling on GoT is on the same level or better if you go by fan reactions, review, nominations, etc.

The Walking Dead is not critically acclaimed :lol

That show fell off after S1 hard. Ratings stay up because of it's niche draw. Not cuz of the acting or storytelling but yeah it definitely does get higher ratings than any other show on AMC.

Hard to pull that off in an just an hour, when there's other stuff to be dealt with as well (Tyrion), but I'm sure whatever we get will be good. Maybe we'll get to see John Snow and Ghost take down a giant together. That would be awesome. I see a approach like the Rebels dealt with the AT-AT's in Empire Strikes Back. Ghost can run circles around a giant with a rope in mouth, bind the legs, then John can move in for the kill with the Valeryian steel. Do it, GRRM.

Side note, still trips me out anytime I see GRRM interviewed that he's American. Between the way he looks and everyone on the show having an accent, it just doesn't seem like he should be American. :lol

episode is called 'Watchers on the Wall', so i wouldnt be surprised if we dont see much of Tyrion tonight. HBO folks have said that this wont be like the past, with the penultimate episode being the ultimate climax. if they can save the conclusion to Tyrion's Trial for the finale... this season might be the GOAT.

BB vs GOT is laughable. i liked BB a lot. but the show with dragons, magic and giants and is still more realistic to me. but lets keep the BB and Aaron Paul slobbing to that thread. we don't need it in here, yo.

And the glorious yambs and ******* in GOT give it a bit of an edge as well, IMO.

I read this episode is soley focused on the battle. Tyrion fate wont be revealed until the finale. This is according to IMBD

Well the last couple seasons, they've only stuck to the area of the battle for the story IIRC. Blackwater was just Stannis/Tyrion/Cersei and last season it was all at The Twins.
