Sorry, I edited my post before your comment, maybe now it'll capture more of the point I was getting at.... lack of originality = zero staying power. This generally goes for new or old in my eyes.That's not entirely true. Rappers do fall of like that, but in many cases, they fall of by sticking to what they do. If you stick to the same ol ****, people will criticize for not doing anything new, but if you change your style and people don't like it, they'll criticize you for that. It's hard to find that balance.
That's not true... rappers get to falling off because they don't stay true to who they are as the months-years pass and/or they do change as a person but try to make music about what they used to do.
