Official French Montana Thread

Biggest L you can take as an artist with this sloppy of an album roll out.
Just horrible, no excuses.

They should of stuck to the date.
Now everyone has it and they make no money off of it, if they release this in October it'll have 2000 first week sales and they'll probably all be Diddy himself. :smh:
He's gotta scrap this and make a new album. It's over.

Too late for that ****

I'm seeing this getting some decent reviews.

IDK man I hate to see him take this L.

I like most of this album, that A$AP Rocky song is an abomination though, and the song with Miguel is an auto skip

I hope people don't really believe the "pushback" was because of clearancing issues.

Beans verse

Paid for is by far the high point on this album. If him wasn't a ***** French could've threw a stack verse on it too

"When the check come I'm through with that h_"!!

Fire song for a fire message

So this was a mixtape that had physical copies in stores?

Why wouldn't you just make it a digital only release like Chance as a Apple or Tidal exclusive for a week, since his first album didn't sell.

Im Heated is such a dope concept, just sux fam rapped about the most random ish on there

Wow I'm Heated is bad. That, the ASAP song, and the song with that bum Miguel and the standout awful songs.

Brick Squad :pimp:. That beat change up :pimp: :pimp:

This French Album is a perfect example of why rap songs about loving/treating women nicely never sit right with me.

Theres a song on this album where he literally says "When that check come I'm through with that ho", then two songs later I'm supposed to believe that he's treating women special and doing literally the opposite of what he said two songs prior. "Started from the ground with me, now she on the hills with me". But what happened to "When that check come I'm through with that ho, I ain't loving you no more"

But yeah I'm supposed to believe this song, from French Montana. Drug dealing, Coke Boys captain, murdering, money flashing, womanizing French Montana.

Disingenuous garbage.

Idk what Drake dude means. I'm the OP of the Drake thread if that's what you mean.

I'm sorry but antidope be sounded like a geek every time he talks about rappers making songs about women. Don't be making no sense.

That's cool bro, I respect that. I'm not here to convince anyone to agree with me, I just skip those songs and continue listening to the rest of it.

French Montana initially said he pushed back MC4 because he was waiting for samples to be cleared. Now, L.A. Reid reveals that the album actually got pushed back due to lack of buzz.
Reid, who is Montana’s label head at Epic Records, called in to the Rap Radar podcast to discuss his artist’s forthcoming project. MC4 was originally slated for an Aug. 19 release before getting pushed back to Oct. 14. The project includes hit singles like “No Shopping” featuring Drake and “Lockjaw” with Kodak Black.
The label head wants to see the New York MC truly prosper, which is the main reason for the album delay. Reid says, “French is incredible and a beloved artist. And he deserves a moment, a real moment of monster success. And that’s what we’re aiming for. And we didn’t want a calendar to dictate that for us. We want it to really happen organically and naturally.”
Interestingly enough, certain stores (Target, for example) had MC4 ready for sale on shelves despite the pushback. The album contains 14 tracks with a plethora of guest features including Drake, A$AP Rocky, Kodak Black, Jeezy, Kanye West, Miguel and Beanie Siegel. You can pre-order MC4 now via iTunes for $10.99.
In other French Montana news, the Coke Boys rapper recently hopped on Young M.A’s “OOOUUU” for the official remix. You can listen to French and A$AP Rocky’s collaboration called “Said N Done” right here.
You can listen to L.A. Reid’s interview below via HHNM, and keep it locked to XXL for more music and news from French Montana. Be sure to visit the site when MC4 officially drops.

Not the biggest fan, but dude has a nice vibe on tracks. Spinning his latest joint now and Devil want my soul is pretty hard. Carbon copy of Love Sosa but it's still heavy.

Nvm, apparently this joint is mad old and i see mad comparisons on the net since '12.
