Chelsea going to sign Jude now?

They really going to have a midfield of Enzo and Jude. With Kante coming back (prob will be moved i'd think). but they really out here just playing FIFA. They still need a goal scorer. Unless they really think Kai is that guy

feel that its only right for the South American bid to win 2030 it being the 100 anniversary of Uruguay 1930.

It’s a great bid because of that and the fact that it will be held in 4 soccer crazed nations. World cups always seem to be more fun in soccer crazed nations.

That said, it’s probably the weakest bid in terms of money and infrastructure.

Always thought a football club should have upgraded defense and midfield first then go after goal scorers

Getting Jude is a pipe dream. Again, Behdad is a serious guy. Whenever he wants players, he will try hard to get them. He just doesn't take no for an answer

I assume the club will sell a lot of players

One player I'd really like to see the club to go after this summer is Lavia. It'd be great if City would waive the buy back clause. I doubt that happens though unless they are in a serious trouble

isn’t lukaku still on the payroll?

No, he isn't on the Chelsea payroll this season. He took a massive pay cut so Inter can afford paying his whole wages for the 22/23 season

Seems Inter don't want to extend the loan. Cannot say I blame them. The Lukaku loan cost them nearly 20 mill gross total

So yeah Chelsea will have Lukaku on the payroll if Inter decide to return Lukaku back to the club

Let's go! Cannot wait!

what makes these bids so acceptable but not the qatari money?

or is it just racism?
Qatari bids are state-funded and run operations. At least theoretically the private ownership groups could have to worry about profitability and expenses. There's absolutely a racism and xenophobia angle to a lot of hot takes when it comes to middle eastern ownership; no billionaire is that rich from being ethical and legal.

Geopolitics plays a large role tbh.

For example the same folks crying out against ME money seemingly have less qualms about Goldman Sachs + JP Morgan (ponzi scheme, authoritarian regime and occasional black market financeers) and Jim Ratcliffe's bids or potentially Elon Musks. At least that's how it comes across as given the massive difference in outcry and energy given to them in comparison.

Any billionaire anywhere in the world will have dirt on their hands, you can't possibly attain grotesque sums and levels of wealth like that without exploiting a large amount of people.

In actuality, how much folks choose stand up against some more than others is 100% dependant on that person's own biases/politics because none of the parties ever involved at this level carry benevolent or utopian intentions so it's a fools errand trying to talk up or down the benefits of one over the other using morality to make your case when everyone involved is already operating in the moral grey area.

You can argue against the merits or disadvantages of state-funding in the game on its own without using morality as the barometer. Unfortunately though, there aren't any rules in place regulating or prohibiting such a thing in the sport so we're seeing and are gonna continue to see more of it. Doesn't seem to be much of if any appetite from the powers that be, to regulate that sort of thing either.

Never understood bringing him in the first place coming off the terrible season with Leeds.

They need a relegation battle commander, not a relegation organizer

Oof I can't see you beating them without him tbh

I hope I'm wrong
Biggest game of the season and he’s out again..classic
I was already thinking idk if the defense will be able to handle all of City’s different offensive options + Rodri
Waiting for lineups now to confirm I guess

Didn't realize Lisandro's gonna be suspended for the match at the Nou Camp tomorrow :{

Would probably go with Shaw and Varane at the back since that's the case. Need someone capable of somewhat similar ball progressing skills from the back against a side like Barca.

I say somewhat though because Lisandro's one of the best passers of the ball in the squad :lol

that's one way to frame it
what does "shake them off" mean?

if it means to sell them when they prove to not be good enough like literally every other club, then i agree.
Y'all shake players off without really giving them a chance at times. Then go buy an overpriced player completely changing the trajectory of said players career. IMO y’all did this to Cristian Tello
