Why bother? Because if I didn't sign up for Timbers season tickets last month, I'd be able to watch any and every Timbers game without having to pirate it. In HD. Any time. Or any other team. For only $99 a year. Its a great deal tbh if you're a fan of any MLS team.
The casuals tho? Apple better hope that people are already be MLS-curious, and Apple better be offering a free trial period to get them to be full blown MLSexuals. Leaning into the #mlsAfterDark appeal would help too.

**** I’m here for this **** Bally Sports and I hope NFL NBA and MLB do similar. Only reason I have live streaming services now is sports. Would love to axe that and just pay an amount to watch just that leagues games

Perhaps. But the shift away from cable is already killing local broadcast. I was pirating because I dont have cable and my antenna couldn't pick up the channel Timbers games were on.

A lot of local broadcast been killed already with things like Bally Sports having deals with specific live streaming services not everyone got. I haven’t been able to watch an Atlanta united game that wasn’t a national one without using the “power of the internet” for like 2 years now. Same with hawks and braves games it’s mad annoying.

Same in the PNW. I want to watch a Blazers game these days? Impossible. Can't even get a decent stream now. Hopefully Apple buys the NBA rights next.
