Official Fallout 4 Thread - Release - 11.10.15

Can someone school me on how you sneak attack someone?

Do you go into Vats or just swing on them?

you have to have high sneak to even get close enough to melee, but you can vats without a weapon (or a melee weapon equipped)

or you can freely do it, but again, your sneak has to be high enough to not be detected while close to enemies.

Made sure my charisma, perception, and intelligence was maxed, 100 cap jobs turn into 400 caps plus I can talk my way outta anything ,Lockpicking, and Computer Hacking both at master level :smokin

I cant get with cait tho she a basehead, thats a no go ,Me and piper gonna repopulate the commonwealth tho :o

I got smart though, I make her wait in the other room or leave her at our crib in diamond city when I wanna do dirt :evil

my man playing fallout the right way LMAO

its all about technical loopholes.

LOL

i havent talked to piper, i want to keep my backstory of being from pre-war time a secret, i havent told anyone. I slipped up and told garvey that i lived in sanctuary before the war, he was like "WHAT?" i was like "nevermind"

piper got that strong nose.

Cait is down for the clown. She wants you to pickpocket people, pick locks, and merk people (and ask for money for helping people. in fact, if you help people for free, she gets angry LOL)

Also, valentine, the synth, can hack computer terminals for you. (i may just skip terminal perk leveling)

Man I been her connect

Should I stop?

how many drugs did you feed her? after 3 she starts coughing and acting all "close to death" so i stopped

i wonder how many times you can give her drugs (and i wonder what she gives you in return) before it kills her (which i assume is the downside)

i swear imma do better on multi posting, i just wanna holler at everyone LOL

@eNPHAN  good point about the Damage Resistance and HP. I was going to get around to the DR one, but I guess I will do that one next and then move to the

DR+ was always worth the perk even when there was a cap.

I would usually do one or two levels early, then wait until i started taking heavy damage from rando enemies to bump it up more.

lol i save my perks to use for higher level perk trees, so right now i'm level 28 with 4 perks unused, waiting till 31 to use them LOL

rifleman, sneak, ninja, action girl, scrounger, gun nut, science, damage resistance, grim reaper's spirit and mr. sandman (off the top of my head)

i used to really dislike the sandman perk (which lets you quietly kill people who are sleeping. can literally clear out whole bases of people at night) but now, they linked silenced weapon damage + to sandman, so i think i will actually perk it up.

(when hidden, i'm doing 3.5 sneak damage with an extra 2x from silenced weapons. dropping 4 people in one vats LOL)

Damn! Nice

I have never been too much of a stealth type like that, but I do like to sneak and get that initial x2 damage on them out the gate. I also try to take as many of them out as I can from distance if it is a group of them as well, but that is a given with most I would think , lol

i hate sneak games i can't play like metal gear.

but sneaking on here is just different, i don't give a **** if i get caught, i'm just trynna get that extra damage off and catch mogs one-on-one

Ironically, I grew up loving to play games like MGS, Syphon Filter, Tenchu Stealth Assassins and stuff like that

Edit:

I'm trying to snipe one out the gate, rifle one down coming to me and then clean the rest up with a shotty when they get on me

I just got this game with a PS4 bundle, might sell it, but also thinking of playing it.

What's the learning curve for this game?

I dabbled with Fallout 3 for a bit, but never really got into it.

if i make my dude fat will it come back to haunt me? also will my character experience prejudice because of his skin tone?

too steep for you.

nah, but in old fallouts, if your character was under 4 intelligence, only half the missions would be available and most people wouldn't even speak to you, saying you were too dumb.

If you need some easy XP do the research escort missions for the BOS,even if the person you're escorting dies you still complete and get the XP..
If you haven't started modding your power armor and plan on it,start stashing aluminum,it takes some for almost every mod.

aluminum, ceramic, screws, adhesive and copper are the most important materials, imo. adhesive maybe the most important, as it's required with ALL mods...screws are specifically for weapons. Copper is for any sort of electric item. Ceramic is for making robotic items.

its a change-up from the typical fallout items and took me a little time to adjust to.

LvL up last night and messed up and picked the V.A.N.S. perk what a waste :{

Meant to add the perk that allows you to make supply routes, but used it on Scavenger instead mainly because someone sent me this.

Tired of running out of ammo in the middle of a fire fight.

This is the perk I should've picked. Ammo struggle is real for me.

Level 41 :smokin
Finally get to play with the science rank 4 mods
I modded a plasma rifle to 75 normal damage + 75 energy damage :x

What I like to do is steal combat armor, or raider armor, duplicates of guns off of corpses and trade them for ammo

Cant remember The last time I actually had to use caps to buy ammo
