How can you listen to Wayne's "Renegade", "BMJR" or "Tha Mobb"....and say that isn't elite level rapping?

First paragraph: My son got banned all of 12 hours ago and is right back at it like it never happened. I thought that was funny.

Second paragraph: No laughter.

Third paragraph: I thought it was funny how you threw a ******* statement out there, and then quickly decided not to stand by it because you knew you were gassing.

If you don't feel like Wayne is/was ever an elite level rapper that's entirely your prerogative, my point was just that debates go no where when people say one thing, get refuted, and then move the goalpost; or say one thing, get refuted, and act like their initial argument didn't get shut down.

A lot of Wayne's music will do that once you go back it listen, his music was good and served its purpose but elite level rapping is something he wasn't doing

Wayne from Hot Boys to about 04-05 was great. 05-07 he was in rare form (in my opinion). 08 until No Ceilings he was good but had fell off from where he was.

Rebirth until now he's fell off more but I think people would be more receptive to him  if something in his voice didn't change. There really isn't much difference from how he is rapping now and how he was rapping in that 08-09 era.

Wayne divides people so much. Some people think he's one of the best ever, others think he's overrated as hell.


I would say from 04-07 He had songs where he showed greatness then songs songs that were about absolutely nothing but his delivery made it sound good. Carter 2 is his best work to me. Every song had direction and he was actually saying something.


His mixtape run was crazy. He had some great songs, some bangers. But most of his **** is about eating p****, weed, lean, money. Then he stopped being creative with it. Son started recycling the same metaphors over and over.
