No I didn't buy yet... But its 430 plus a 20 discount, but anyways I just wanted some good sounding quailty subs that don't have to be too loud. Itought those w3's would be a good deal since I don't have to worry about finding a good encloser for them. But if you think that's overpriced whatsubs would you suggest for around that 400 dollar price with a box?

that's not a good box for them..prefab boxes are
sick.gif

can you build one?

yeah it is always your best bet to get a box custom built for the speakers and to the air space in the car you are putting it in

research and see if there are any shops around your way who will build a box for not too much $

man Mr Monday night putting in a LOT of leg week for alot of u clowns.. do ur own homework, and ask serious Tech questions rather than what and where should ibuy.. give u props Monday cause dudes are unnapreciative

i know mr monday night helps out a lot. and i am real appreciative for the help he gives us. and i do do a lot of homework and i am just asking for his opinionand what he this are good products. and i believe he must enjoy doing this because its not like he has too.

but anyway mr mondy night, do you think one 12" type x in a good custom ported enclosure would be good? or just stick with a 10" g5 its not that i amlooking for a lot of low i just didn't think a 10" could hit the lows. also would just one of either of these still have decent spl i don't needanything extremely loud? oh yeah and thanks for all the help.

Dont let a 10" sub fool you thats for sure......a good set 10" can clown all over other people set-ups if its done correctly

it hits more of a range of notes , rather then just the low bass

None of the subs are actually made for spl but they will get loud. Get a 12" type x in a 2 cubic foot box tuned @ 30 hz. make sure to get thedual 2 ohm version and get the sundown 1000d to power it. what car is this going in again?

this stuff would be going in a 98 bmw 740iL, so i have a lot of truck space. and if go with the g5 or the type x, there would be know reason to have a setright? i saw the g5 doesn't run at a very high rms but does it still get fairly loud?

well you won't be doing hairtricks or beating down the block but it'll get loud...

if u want a mix of both, get the type x or the ssa icon

I know that, but on many audio sites people say that much like RE XXXs they need a much larger box for optimum performance

Is there anyway to connect an iPod without having an aftermarket deck? I have a 1994 3000gt and it has the standard cassette player in it. So I was wonderingif there was a way I could essentially use my iPod as my deck being as I have all of my music on it.

Alright guys, I'm a complete noob at this car audio stuff. When I say complete noob, I mean complete noob. So my uncle just dropped this off for free:

Point me in the right direction of what else I need to get so I can get this set-up. I drive a 2005 BMW 325i if it matters.

edit: fixed the pics. And I don't really want anything crazy or the best that there is. So I think I'm cool with these cheap ones

Holy large pictures.

Anyways you need a mono amp and an amp wire kit, probably a 0ga, but a 4ga would work just fine.
