I would say Rafer Alston had a solid career, Telfair was a huge disappointment. I don't think he ever cracked 10 ppg.
I mean he did good financially but on the court he was a bust. He had a ton of hype in high school and got to the league and basically disappeared and bounced around, never cracked 10 a game. Ain't like he was some 2nd Rd pick that went under the radar. He was in the league for ten years b. Do you realize how many players don't make it ten years? How many wish they could stay in ten years?
He's getting an NBA pension when he hits 55.

The 13th pick carving out a 10 year career isn’t a bust. Jan Vesely, Adam Morrison, Jonny Flynn etc are busts.
He was talkin bout Alston
I disagree with that.
Why would he be talking about Rafeer right there?
Look up the career length of the average 13th pick and see if they reach 10 years
That's cool he lasted 10 years but he didn't come close to living up to expectations.
There were expectations around him before the SLAM cover. People really thought he was going to be the next guy when he was in High School. One of the few guys I really think could have benefitted from maturing a bit more in college under Pitino. What expectations? The Slam cover?
What expectations? The Slam cover?
Slam Cover
ESPN Televised games
ESPN documentary
Adidas deal
Marbury Cousin
Media hype and basketball hype aren’t the same thing to me
Once everybody found out Steph was bassy cousin they expected him to be the next Steph. The slam cover, shoe deal, Espn gassing him and showing their games, the doc (one of my favorite joints), job Co sign. I fell for the hype as a kid but if he was coming out today I would laugh and call him overrated. He did well for himself sticking around as long as he did. Unathletic undersized Pg who couldn’t really shoot.
