So the weber kettle is the ultimate grill?
I truly believe that if you can learn on a Weber Kettle you can pretty much work with anything else with ease. I stated out with the Weber and have been using a BGE for about 10 years now and the temp control skills I learned on da Weber makes the BGE a piece of cake.

Quick burgers tonight

I found this guy on fb marketplace selling 2 kettles and a Smokey mountain for $250. I hesitated because I def don’t need 4 grills in total but that was a steal

I had someone offer to buy me a more "expensive/fancy" grill and I had to let them know that the Weber is all I need/want.

THey didn't get it. (Not a grill master so of course they wouldn't)

Man...i picked up a smokey mountain (18 inch) last year for 350 alone.

I was gonna pick up a kettle from marketplace...had one lined up too, but buddy went ghost for a few hours and that delayed me from getting back to him. Ended up just buying one new...another 200+ whatevs though.

I waited until the next morning to message him and it was gone already. I looked up smoky mountains and they are $400+ now which led me to fb marketplace

I kinda want to get a gas grill so I can make stuff quicker. Like just throw on 1 steak or a few burgers and it’s not a multiple hour process

Yeah, as much as I like fiddling with a fire my gas grill gets the most use. It’s just simple and consistent.

Getting a Blackstone for my birthday in a few weeks too. I didn’t want another huge thing (already got a gas grill, a smoker, a charcoal thing and we’re currently building a fire pit…) and Costco had a great deal on the 22” one - not a bad size and it doesn’t have legs so it can go on a shelf in the garage.

Can’t wait to be able to make tacos and stuff on it too.

I can get down with a Weber no problem.

I prefer to use a n off-set smoker though, Texas boy in me!

If I'm going to "Grill", I'd prefer to be over an open flame.

Yea I know. I sometimes want to throw something on after work but the prep for charcoal can be irritating at times.

I see your point.

I gotta grab a charcoal grill and get into that, add some real flavor instead of propane

Or you guys using something else

Charcoal > _____

I really want a Kamado Joe Jr. We have the Regular Joe but 9 times out of 10 I’m only grilling for the Mrs and I. The Jr. gets to temp faster reducing wait time and uses less charcoal.

Charcoal here. The wait time can be a nuisance, but I just walk my dog for 15 minutes and the coals are hot and ready by the time I get back.

Maybe Im used to it but heating up charcoal never seemed that time consuming 🤷🏿‍♂️

Cleaning and prepping the grill seems like most of my time and you gotta do that with gas or charcoal anyways

I have the gravity fed charcoal grill from Masterbuilt and that's all I'll do going forward.

Easy to light and maintain temp. Set and forget and can get it up to 700° in 10 minutes.

Had the WSM and kettle going at the same time today.

Did a pork loin, corn on the cob and baked beans on the WSM.

Chicken, hot dogs, chicken kabobs, jalapeño stuff with cream cheese and bacon, and steak.

Didn't take any pics though.

Might do a pork shoulder next week...I dunno, we'll see.
