Just got a 3M paint protection kit installed on my vehicle, wish I had done it sooner but luckily after 13000 miles I only had one small rock chip that waseasily fixed with touch-up paint. No more worrying about driving on the highways any more. A little pricey depending on your car and the amount of coverage, but worth the investment.

I dont see anyone driving a Taurus or Malibu or any of that around here (5 boroughs).\

The new Accord, TL, and TSX is the new "I see everywhere car".

I dont know ANYONE that considers a Ford or Dodge as their first choice when shopping for a new car (average person).

alot of this thread got alot of biased with little to no factual information to stand it on..imma make sure that doesn't happen on my watch.

RSX>>>Focus
ummm its WAAAY closer to that...
2002 Ford Focus SVT - Serenity Now
Acura RSX Type S Meets Ford Focus SVT

By Ricky Chu

Photography by Jonathan Wong

There are some days when we sit in the office and think back about the good ol' days; back when cars were all about American muscle versus Japanese technology. Things like the enchanting gargle of a finely tuned carburetor and the silent bliss of a fuel-injected engine. Wait a second, this isn't right at all. All that rivalry nonsense was way before our time, back when Chevy Chase was actually funny. People who have been stuck on swampland timeshare properties for the past 20 years would have a hard time recognizing these cars.

American cars are getting smaller and more efficient,Japanese cars are getting bigger and using larger- displacement motors, and Betamax isn't the hottest thing to hit the shelves anymore. Today, it isn't so absurd to put a Ford Focus SVT and an Acura RSX Type S side by side. Not to battle each other in a day of grueling track testing, but to make note of how much the automotive industry has evolved. It's uncanny how similar these two cars are to each other.

Both cars use 2.0L displacement, high-compression motors, and six-speed manual transmissions. Ford's Focus SVT yields slightly less power than Acura's RSX Type-S 170 hp to 200 hp. With technology such as Zetec and iVTEC available, variable valve timing is no stranger to either car. Weight is always a big issue; these cars tip the scales at just around 2,700 pounds. Front engine, front-wheel drive appears to be the driveline of choice. What's more important, length or girth? The 4 inches that the Focus loses to the RSX in length is made up by 2 inches of additional width.

Appearance-wise, it's very difficult to say which car is going to get you more digits from the girlies. Futuristic-looking headlights and taillights can be found on both cars. With luxuries such as an in-dash six-disc CD player and metallic color gauges, driving either car makes you feel as if you're sitting in some type of space vehicle. Almost every spec we had on hand was close when comparing the cars. In fact, the only big difference we could find between them was the price. The RSX Type-S dents the wallet slightly more at $23,000, while the Focus SVT is available for $17,500.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but after driving both cars for a week, we still can't come to a unanimous decision on which car we like better. It's almost like having to choose between prime rib and filet mignon. A decision of this caliber requires more than a flip of a coin. Actually, we want both cars. You can call us greedy or indecisive, but we'll be the ones rolling two pimp rides to party it up with the Butabi brothers at the Roxbury. Maybe we can impress the girls in the drive-thru lines that we spend more than half of our lives sitting in.
First Place /// Ford F-150 4x4 Supercrew Lariat
2009-ford-f150-470.jpg

Ford has made incredible strides in refinement and capability with the 2009 F-150(click herefor our brand-new, in-depth test drive). It may look like a more chiseled version of the old truck, but from behindthe wheel, it is a much improved beast. It's as though Ford gave every nut and bolt an extra half twist of torque to make sure the F-150 is drum-tight. TheF-150 is the heaviest here at a porky 5921 pounds. And despite the newly empowered 5.4-liter V8, that weight hurts acceleration and handling. It was theslowest and required the longest distances to come to a rest.

But trucks don't live on the test track, and the F-150's weight has been put to use. It has a wonderfullyrigid body, which quells vibration and makes for a serene, peaceful interior. At a 60-mph cruise, the Ford was nearly luxury-car quiet-the most hushed of ourgroup by a wide margin. The longest truck here, our F-150 also has the rear seat offering the most volume. When the roads turned serpentine, the Ford'sexcess weight was noticeable. It's not quite as tossable or fun as the Dodge. But the ride quality is closer to the benchmark Dodge's than any truckhere.

For work, we found the Ford is simply the better truck. Its tow rating, a stout 9300 pounds, handled our test trailer withease. It shared the electronic trailer-sway control feature with the Dodge, but only the Ford had an integrated brake controller. And that's agame-changing feature. The Ford was the only truck to offer a flat load floor under the rear seat. That makes the space more useful for real hauling than thelumpy bottoms of the other trucks. The F-150 is the only truck in our test that offered a system that can electronically track your tools. That's cool. Andours came with Sync and a gorgeous bird's-eye-view navigation system, both of which are simply class-leading. It was these details, the nearlyone-pickup-class-above work capability and the overall refinement that tipped the scales in the Ford's favor.

you can google top ten 2009 pick up truck till your fingers bleeds and da answer won't change...da F-150 is a man among boys.

2009-Pickup-Truck-Shootout.jpg

We've had an abnormally highnumber of pickup truck first drives recently - the 2009Ford F-150, the 2008Toyota Tundra, the 2009Chevy Silverado and the 2009Dodge Ram. Why? Because we've been working in conjunction with PickupTrucks.comto bring you a full blown comparison on the 2009 models of every half-ton truck currently for sale in the 'merican market and here it is. It'sgot all the numbers on towing, handling, braking and acceleration - everything a serious truck buyer could ever need. Frankly, that's the easy part. Thesubjective determination of which one's the best? That's harder to nail down, but it's what we're here for.
2009 Pickup Truck Comparison: Auto Cross

2009 Pickup Truck Comparison: Braking Challenge Results

2009 Pickup Truck Comparison: Drag Strip Acceleration Results

2009 Pickup Truck Comparison: Towing Results
The competitors represent some ofthe best engineering from the minds of both Detroit and Japan, entrants this year include the 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500, the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, the 2009 FordF-150, GMC Sierra 1500, 2009 Nissan Titan, and the 2008 Toyota Tundra. Competition has driven the capabilities of trucks forward in such a way that this moderncrop will do more than their forebears could even conceive. However, this relentless march of capability has left us at a point where numbers no longer relateto real world usability and as such the competitors have begun to differentiate. The Ram with its new focus on ride and handling, the Titan is a bit moreathletic, the F-150 is the heavy hauler, which leaves the GM twins as the remaining set of do-alls in a crowd of specialists.

Crowning AChampion>

We're going to come right outand say reviewing trucks is, in a way, a bit silly. Trucks, and specifically the half-ton truck segment, are frequented by some of the most loyal productbuyers in the world. Magazines and websites opining passionately on the newest offerings don't really matter for these buyers. Reviews speak primarily inthis segment to first-time truck buyers, and these days those are few and far between.

But, that being said, we must crowna winner. If we go by the numbers, it's the 2009 Ford F-150 that emerges as the winner when balancing capabilities against performance, finishing at ornear the top in every category. But the absolutes of the statistics leaves out the subjective feel of these trucks and ignores that people buy them fordifferent reasons.

But, saying the Ford is the best ofthe bunch is simply unfair. Is it the most well-rounded? Yes. But what about the most fun to drive? Certainly not. Is it the best styled? That's up to you.Does it have the best interior? Nope. So why is it the best? It just does everything well. The F-150 is, for lack of a better term, the working man'struck. The new F-series offers the greatest capabilities and the best long-term value resting on top of a long history of accolades. It really is a greatpickup, but that's not to say it's everybody's cup of tea.

Then there's the Nissan Titan, which objectively scores in last place among the competition. If we were to build a truck for the person who occasionally needed the capabilities of a truck, wanted something incredibly entertaining on the street, offered reasonable fuel economy and a no-nonsense interior. We'd be hard pressed to build somethingmore fitting than the Titan. Think Nissan Altima in truck form.

That's not to say that nobodywants a monstrously big pickup able to out-tow almost everything, rides like an old Cadillac and has an interior you can live with if you don't look tooclosely at the details. That would be a slot perfect for the Tundra. A truck so good at doing its job you actually overlook it as trying too hard anddelivering where it almost doesn't count anymore.

And what of the Silverado and GMCSierra? They run down the same assembly line, but have vastly different characters. The Silverado finishes a close second to the the F-150 by the numbers and, depending on what you're looking for, could be a better truck. The GMC feels better but somehow doesn't reflect so in the scoring. In fact, when pressed to make an overall choice, we'd be in apickle to choose the Titan or the Sierra, the two "losers" in the field. Goes to show how much personal preference plays into thedecision.

Anyway,if there's one thing we learned over our two day pickupgasm, it's this - there's a truck out there for everyone who wants one. Unfortunately, there's just not that many people who want them right now.

Yeah, a clear bra. It was close to a grand for my MDX after paying for the pieces and installation. I had my plastic bumper painted at a local body shop amonth ago, so I had a custom piece made for that which made it more expensive.

Looking around on boards it looks like installation can be anywhere from $500-1000+ depending on the installer, the quality of the clear bra material (xpel,3M, and ventureshield seem to be the most popular), and how much coverage you want. Most standard kits are the front part of the hood, the front bumpers, frontquarter panels, and side mirrors.

These 5 series pictures are what sold me for a clear bra. Again, not the cheapest but worth it if you plan on keeping your car for awhile and want to avoidrock chips, etc.
2008 Challenger SRT8s Officially Sold Out
2008dodgechallengersrt8.jpg

Chrysler says all 6,400 copies of its Dodge Challenger that will be built and sold for the 2008 model year have been spoken for: The return of the '70s muscle car is totally sold out.

Now that the 2008s have all been snarfed up, it's time to get in line to get your hands on a 2009 model, which will arrive this fall.

If you're dying for a 2008, though, and don't mind shopping on eBay, 28 of those 6,400 sold-out 2008 SRT8 Challengers just happen to have come out of hiding and are listed for sale - 24 of them by dealers - on the site.

The base price of a rare SRT8 is $37,995, which includes a $675 destination charge but doesn't include the only three options available: all-season radial tires for $100, a power sunroof for $950 and MyGig for $890. That price also doesn't include a gas-guzzler tax of $2,100; the Hemi V-8 gets only 13/18 mpg city/highway.

So that's a total of $42,710 before tax, title and license fees.

Of the 28 cars listed on eBay, most sellers are starting in the low-$40,000 range, while some start at $50,000.

A trio of listings state the car is yours for $60,000. One takes that up to $61,995, while the top asking price is $65,000.

Dodge spokeswoman Kathy Graham said the automaker has tried to pursuade its dealers not to demand a premium over the SRT8's list price.

The bids demanded on some cars on eBay, though, topped the full sticker price by between $20,000 and almost $25,000.

"Guess our persuasion didn't always work," Graham said.

While only the SRT8 is being sold for the 2008 model year, a V-6-powered SE and 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 R/T will also be available this fall for the 2009 model year. Graham said that should help reduce the problem of supply and demand forcing prices higher than the sticker.
Over 6k 2010 Camaros Already Sold, Huge Run On Chewing Tobacco Imminent
chevrolet-camaro-2010-713446.jpg

While Corvette sales continue to tank, the media-drenched, over-hyped 2010 Camaro is reporting record success. According to sales figures, a whopping 6,0002010 Chevy Camaros have already been pre-ordered, 84% of which have been for the high-performance Camaro SS V8.To break down the numbers of orders by model, the sales percentages are as follows:

Camaro LS: 2%
Camaro 1LT: 4%
Camaro 2LT: 10%
Camaro 1SS: 7%
Camaro 2SS: 77%
While the enthusiasm for the 2010 Camaro is music to the ears of ailing Chevy dealerships, the overwhelming demand for the Camaro SS and the resulting number of "sold" orders already received are rapidly threatening to exceed the number ofSS models that have been allocated through September of 2009.
