im growing increasingly convinced that people complaining about the thickness of modern jerseys either never wear them or they live in antarctica
I always love seeing older jerseys in new condition.1999 Marshall Faulk Rams
Yeah, these Nike Authentic elite jerseys are trash. I’m definitely not buying another again. As mentioned, the older thicker and heavier Authentic’s blow these out the water on a casual standpoint as well as a quality standpoint. Even my 2012 Brian Urlacker Nike elite authentic has better quality then this authentic commanders Nike elite jersey. It retailed for $250. This Commanders one is $335 and it’s paper thin lol. Never again ..lolTo be fair, we here are consumers, wearing jerseys for casual wear. We're not the athletes on the field.
From this perspective as a casual wearer and a fan of jerseys in general, I SO much more prefer old, thick jerseys......also with big logos, letters, name plates etc. Modern day jerseys are trash IMO.....as a casual wearer.
this doesnt make sense. the point of authentic jerseys is to offer collectors what is worn in game. the jerseys are designed for the athletes. replica jerseys are for casual wearersTo be fair, we here are consumers, wearing jerseys for casual wear. We're not the athletes on the field.

The reason we want what’s worn in the game is because it’s supposed to be better quality.this doesnt make sense. the point of authentic jerseys is to offer collectors what is worn in game. the jerseys are designed for the athletes. replica jerseys are for casual wearers
We work hard for our money and these jerseys aren't cheap: $335 MSRP for retail authentic. Try the team/game issued route. The jerseys are made in USA and accurate, and the quality is amazing (eg. Thicker shell, kiss cut numbers, sewing, and even the chrome NFL shield is thicker). If you are on a budget, try buying obscure/practice squad players.Man, Nike Authentic Elite jerseys are so thin smh. Why are they like this? Lol. I definitely love the heavier jerseys from Mitchell and NESs and the Reebok Authentic’s Especially, for $335 lol
It’s hard to get game issued stuff if you aren’t very small. Most of the jerseys are very small. We work hard for our money and these jerseys aren't cheap: $335 MSRP for retail authentic. You dont have to spell it out for me ive been collecting for nearly 25 years. We have the power as consumers to not purchase things we dont like. The perception of heavier fabrics = quality is just a fallacy perpetuated by the gatekeepers of collector culture. I used to hold the same opinion until i actually wore a flexbase jersey on a hot summer day. These are performance based garments and should be judged according to their intended use. The nike mlb jerseys were rightfully ripped for durability and coloration issues. Nfl and nba jerseys (post aeroswift) to the best of my knowledge have had no such issuesThe reason we want what’s worn in the game is because it’s supposed to be better quality.
That usually means thicker fabric, full stitching, accurate patches, etc.
Thicker fabric almost always = better quality
Thinner = bad quality / weak
At least that’s how it’s perceived, and thus the change to thinner material is looked at as a step down in quality.
Yeah im conflicted because they got the hockey authentics correct but ill never forgive them for ruining jersey collecting lolThe Fanatics logo on the NHL jerseys doesn't feel right.
