I was going to complain that I never find anything like this in my life so so cheap, but then I remembered that when they were switching from Adidas to Nike the Modells had a TON of Joe Johnson authentics with mesh numbers for only $25. I was so broke at the time so I only got about 3 of them, I would have bought every single one.

Can anyone let me know if this looks legit?

One thing throwing me off is the tag says it’s Made in Russia, but I’m looking at a Webber one on eBay that’s made in Korea?

I'm finally posting this 1986-87 Bulls jersey I got back in September. I decided to post it after 3 months because I just got some matching shoes yesterday on New Year's Eve to wear with it.

2021-2022 City Edition Haliburton Authentics from the Kings Team Store. The website image shows a Swingman jersey, but it was labeled as an authentic so I thought "why not, maybe it's mislabeled". Planning to turn one into a Fox or Sabonis, but I havent decided. FYI, I also ordered the "authentic" purple jersey and the white jersey, but those are indeed Swingman's so I sent them back. Customer service person just told me to call the warehouse to let them know it's mislabeled...but i'll pass.

the other thread posted that as well :

Copped this Raps VC in the wild for only $40…

Does anyone know if Nike released these size 50+4s as retail authentics?

I don’t think it’s team issue (def not gamer) given that there is a neck tag and the cut of the wishbone collar. Also it doesn’t have any tags specifying the season/year that I’ve seen on other team issued stuff.

But at the same time we all know retail authentics (with the exception of certain brands) were released in 36,40, 44, 48, 52 etc…

I’ve seen quite a few of these in circulation (along with Kobe Lakers Sz 46) and always wondered what the back story was…

Looks like a retail pro-cut to me.

Beautiful jersey, especially for $40! Definitely a retail pro-cut. Aside from the neck tag, another way to tell retail pro-cut vs gamer with Nikes is: pro-cut = Made in El Salvador, gamers = Made in the USA.

I know Toronto did some special embroidery tagging for some gamers during this era, but retail pro-cuts generally had a season tag on the inner side of the jersey with the laundry instructions tag.

Thanks man. For the longest time I always thought only replica, Swingman or authentic were available for sale to the public. I’m assuming only Nikes did this in the early 00’s… I also wonder if the retail price is the same as regular authentics.

I’ve got a Jordan Wizards pro-cut that’s NWT & retailed at $220 on the tag, whereas the regular authentic retailed for $140. So the pro-cuts were substantially more expensive back then.

Jersey-Joe used to have a pro-cut section on his website, too. I remember a CP3 Hornets procut, maybe Melo. There was a bunch. There was a retail market for it, but I don't think it lasted past the Mid-2000s.

Hey NT can I get a LC on this Lakers Shaq?

I’m pretty sure it’s fugazzi (although probably the best one I’ve ever seen) for the following:

1. Neck tag is missing the number size and “Dri Fit”. Instead it’s “XL TG EG”. I posted my VC raps below as a comparison…every Nike authentic I own has the number and dri fit on it…

2. Care tag at the bottom says “Made in Honduras of USA Fabric”. I don’t think the US and Honduras have anything to do with each other … lol

3. Color is a bit more “gold” than I’ve seen on other Lakers authentics from the same era…

I’ve seen a couple like this on eBay floating around as well….

Apart from the above, the quality and cut is amazing…

Definitely a fake. Number and letter materials are wrong. Also as you mentioned the tagging. And a 48 would still say 48 instead of XL on the neck tag.

When I actually compared it to my Kobe (which has all the right tags etc) it seemed like the materials of the numbers and letters looked and felt the same as it has the “micro- line pattern” - although the Kobe is older and faded in colour so might be hard to see in photos… stitching on the reverse seems ok for the most part too…

After some further digging it appears the Shaq has the same neck tag as my Yao rockets Swingman and a similar care tag with the “made in Honduras of USA fabric” (which I assume means the fabric was made in the us and the jersey assembled in Honduras..?). But the font on the care tag looks kind of off…

I dunno, still kind of on the fence…I tell myself manufacture defects and anomalies happen all the time in production, but at the same time “where there is smoke, there’s fire”… lol
