I wear XL or 2XL in Rev30 with the length tailored. 48 in Champion (44 looks like baby Gap on me) and 44 in M&N. 5'9" 194.

I'm 6'1" and 185 and a large fits me best but I can fit a medium if I really want to.  So in my opinion you'd be fine with large.

It all depends on your build for sure so it might help if you knew your own measurements. I have a big chest and back from bodybuilding, so my chest measures like 43" or so. If you have a slimmer build then yeah a L should work. I tried a Rev30 L on at one point and it felt like UA compression...

but like others have said, its more about your build.
